Thread: MASTER POWERS QUESTIONS
General Ranged Speed doesnt work. Neither do ranged arms.
2: Youshould be able to take out a mbh/mrm/4000CM easily but just in case, keep a holocron near you.

MPowers is nice addon to saber dmg. Without saber at all you can be only a support in group pvp with area-kd and area-root, but that's pretty much it. In duel against msaber you are going down in 3 hits. Agains BH - well, cloak and run, because without saber you cannot dish damage fast enough to outdamae his heals.
But, mpowers combined with some saber and enhancer is a killer against BHs - you have root and kd you can alternate to stop them from kiting, you have a nice dot called force choke that will keep them healing and you have force weaken to lower their health bar. But most important you can make them stay put and keep poking them with a lightsaber, which will eventually lead to seeing corpse of bh in front of you. Or you can cloak and run if you don't feel like wasting your time on bh. But forget about dueling other jedi, esp FOTM mdef/msabers, you don't stand a chance.
sorry man but i dont think you know what your talking about, first of all powers doesnt have an area root, as a matter of fact i dont think any profesion does lol. Secondly a master powers user fares better off against a bh even than a master sabers jedi. To non jedi Master powers is very deadly on its own. Its only weakness is against other jedi who have the force defense line of defender and *4*4 lines of enhancer

1. The damage output is horrible
2. not enough to kill a decent BH or jedi

I'm master powers/ master enhance with the rest in heal. It's a very fun template to play with, but it is definately not for the typical hack and slash player. By hack and slash I mean a player who's thing (and this is ok by me) is to just stand next to their target and hack at it -- a player who just picks out their 'best' attack and does it over and over until the target goes down.
That type of player does not include all master saber types. Some of those buggers fight SMART -- particularly ones that make good use of roots.Anyway, the only way I can be kilt is if someone totally surprises me (which has happened) or I chose to stay and fight and don't run when I should. I definately have afair chance of winning unless it's against one of those smart msaber types, but I have to be a lot more careful about what I do. I have to use a mix of jedi skills and do them correctly, in the proper order and with good timing.
Powers don't put out the same DPS that sabers can, but are great fun if you are helping a group because most of our states are area attacks of some form. If you want to be a solo fighting god go sabers. If you are a grouper, powers are always welcome from my experience.

1. you can for pve and non jedi pvp. It does pretty good damage.
2. channel force helps but you can drain your force very fast. in pve you just have to stop alot and channel or sit. In pvp you are gimped in my opinon because you will go thru your force so fast AND JEDI WILL KILL YOU IF YOU CANT GET AWAY root = death
my advice is if your a powers guy if your heart is set on it go for it.You will have fun once you learn your limits and you can learn to deal with it. if your on the fence you will probably be very frustrated with powers.. IT HAS ISSUES

I beg to differ, I am a commando, and I can area root. If I aim it right, i can root a whole lair, its quite a sight.
