It might be time to craft a 3rd gen saber with all points toward DAMAGE and a 4th gen too (just in case CL80 elder can weld a pre-NGE 4th gen). The reason behind going all damage can be found here:

Its a fair bet if Guarr thinks we will need cl 86 then we should probably work on that assumption ... you guys all saved your gen 3s right?

Gruzner, I am saying there are no CERTIFICAITONS for lightsabers. We get the ability to CRAFT a 4th gen at level 86. We have NO CLUE what the actual level requirements for equiping said sabers will be.
Once they convert some test servers and IF people report they cannot use their previously made sabers, you can bet SOE will lower the requirement, if any.
My point is, we dont know what the actual combat level requirement for our sabers are as of yet - just the crafting schematics!

Besides, why the flames? I am just saying that there is an equal chance that we're not al screwed out of our 4th Generation Lightsabers once the NGE comes out. Do you really think SOE will make 99% of the Current Jedi not be able to use their primary sabers?

My point was that we get the schematic at level 86. There are no +Can Wield 4th Generation Lightsaber certification. If you played the game back in 2003 each profession had a certificaton for their weapons. Now that's it's all CL based, we will not know what the levels are until somebody actually crafts a lightsaber.
Certifcation does not equal Combat Level Requirement does not equal + Crafting Schematic
My logic is not faulty if you do not think that certification = CL Requirements
