Thread: possible issue? /duel

for me this is real bad actually, I remmeber before this /duel exploit I came upon a group of jedi none of them knew whos mission I had and the jedis cautiously stopped grinding and prepared then realising they wouldnt be able to find one some of them would loose food or grind cautiously. I was able to pick a time even after they knew I was there that I was able to easily kill the jedi. It completly has detroyed my first strike. I cannot do this anymore. Also the cooldown exploit isnt technically an exploit if you know how it works it IS working as intented you just have to know what to do to get the effect. Hint ranged shot! So yes I guess I will learn from you and not call small things exploits, and next time we duel ill hit you once every second for that 600 dmg shot

I was told today something about using the /duel command against BH .. Is it a exploit? Can anyone give me details without getting in trouble? I want to make sure I dont give a BH a reason to report me is all, thanks.
I don't see how the /duel command on BH is an exploit. It were an exploit if we could avoid combat or get the first attack, but we only get a text saying "You cannot duel this person since it can attack you", its not like we get the instant win because of that.
Plus, Jedi always felt a disturbance in the force, I see no difference, we have to /duel a BH instead of running a Jedi specific command called "Force senses" (if it were existant),

For those of you believing I exploited understand. It is working as intended for a move that paralyzes to break if damage is caused, a debuff does not cause any damage and therefore is not an exploit. Now the /duel exploit used to be alot different. Back in the day the /duel exploit is where a bh could /duel a jedi before fighitng him and the jedi could not attack back. This was fixed quickly becuase it was overly game breaking and gave the jedi no chance. To fix this they changed the way duels between a bh and jedi work. Becuase of this change they unknowingly gave the jedi a way to find out if a bh has his mission. Abusing the /duel is using a bugged system to your advantage. Whitch is a exploit.
I just realised what you are saying, So youve just accidently told me a workaround to the /duel exploit.... If I stay on my bike it doesnt work.....interesting will rememeber this...poor ahazi jedi.

Somantics. Personally, I feel that applying speed and action debuffs is very damaging, IMO they should count as attacks for the purpose of breaking a mez. It's a negative action taken against your character. So, I feel you are indeed abusing an oversight in the mez mechanics.
The /duel thing, on the other hand, is like a bounty hunter sticking your name on the friend list so they know when you log on. It's not called the 'target online status list', and if you're hunting me you sure aren't my friend. It's using a game mechanic to provide information that is not necessarily what the mechanic is set up to do. Not to mention, the ability to use /duel to tell if someone has your mission is a direct result of bounty hunter abuse of the command in the first place... I will welcome the /duel'you can't attack' being removedwhen the friend list requires friending on both sides to show online status.

Goddamn, Jedi just can't stop the exploiting.
As long as you pit two groups against each other players will always find a way to exploit any loop hole they can find. Both sides do it to no end now and no matter what changes SOE introduces someone will find a loop whole to expoit. lol

Yeah, but damn... there are some people on these forums that make huge long posts trying to justify an exploit.
