If you want to heal in the mix of PvP this is a strong template. The defender allows you to take some heavy hits without burning up force with Force Aura, but in a pinch you have it and Avoid Incap to get you back under the protection of damage dealers. Sadly you could be just as effective without Master Healer, and pick up some Enhancer to make you stronger.

Something like 0404 LS, 0040 Defender, 3402 Enhancer, Master Healer would probably serve you better. Although as you say "you are just as effective without master healer", probably MORE effective since you havewasted52 skillpoints on redundant powers.
I am a M. Healer, M. LS, and 4040 Def.
No FR, No Root, No Cloak, No Channel, No Stasis, etc etc.
My LS does not break 700 max dam.
Master Healer Master Defender with Saber 0404 and I really disspise this temp. I can heal to no end but have almost no offense. In PvP I get ram rodded by 8 jedi at the start of it. I have no escape ability, I have no Crowd control, and chanel. Up against BH/CM I can heal to no end with there dots and lame weapon hits but I cant stop them from running around and kiteing me. I end up chaseing the around until I run out of mind, I havent lost to them from lack of force so far its been lack of mind, since theres never moves,
Allin all I wouldnt suggest this temp at all for pvp or bh encounters. For PvE this temp is really nice.For jedi fights 1 on 1 I do ok I just have trouble makeing enuff damage to them(sorry pearls). I get asked all the time how I just healed myself for over 4k and they start yelling xploit when I dont say anything lol. The less that know Iam a master healer the better lol

A CM in its ownis not effective against a MHealer I know that far. But if he knows how to manage his health/mindand have a good weapon/armor, he is likely to wear you out before you can get close.
I was just offering one data point about one template option. Take it for what you may.
In the end, a template does not buy victory.
You will have more victories playing a template you are good at playing than playing any other. You will have more fun, however, playing a template that you enjoy playing than playing any other, regardless of your victory score card.
I play a healer because I enjoy it. Be it doc or Jedi. I get more kicks out of saving a group mate than I get from killing a foe.

Agree but something most are running into is the lack of good pearl drops. Until we get decent tunes were stuck. As tiggs stated there would be less jedi around after the cu. I dont think she was talking about makeing it harder to play I just think she knew with all teh changes a large portion would jus tstop playing.

Since the person I was replying to was a master healer pre-Cu I assumed he would have a good LS, hence my suggestion.
With a poor LS the suggested template is not so great because you can not out damage your foe's healing.
This template does very well for me. I have only lost 1 Bh encounter since the CU.
Yes it was enhancer.
