Thread: DON'T CANCEL YOUR SWG SUBSCRIPTION , cancel a BHs snare instead with Rancor Aid
Did some preliminary testing of it the other morning
here is what i found
It did not cancel out the Electrolyte drain or Riflemans snare or Carbineer snare.. in otherwords, you are attacked and snared take rancor aid the snare is still there , does not wipe the snare.
What did it do then?
Once i had taken it , snares could not be applied for the duration , thats all snares , Rifleman snare , Carbineer snare and Electrolyte drain , the message was something along the lines of "you cannot put that effect on "playername""
so once taken you will be "immune" from snare effects for the duration , the actual message the person using the snare will see is "resisted"
the duration on the one i was using was around 1 minute 40 seconds give or take a few seconds , fill was around 17
the way it needs to be used , take it after you are attackedsicne it has such a short duration , if the attacker opens with a snare you will still have to eat the first snare and survive

Also, I think it's ridiculous that the filling is high (15) and the duration is short (<2Min) particularly when there are snares that last far longer than it.
The other sanres last 15 seconds ED is the only one of consequence! Also if you can not survive the first ED snare what are you doing being a Jedi?

How come no one is talking about Rancor Aid? Am I missing something? 14 filling and gives you a minute to get away or pound the BH then rinse and repeat. Manage your stomach and the drink and you should be ok in the fight. It cancels out the effects of snare.
You seem to have missed the fact that Rancor's aid only helps against Electrolyte drain, not against any of the other roots and snares.
You also seem to have missed the fact that snares and roots can be stacked.

Really? Geesh, and here's me getting stuck nearly one minute by concussion shot... tell me, have you ever run into Pistoleer / Smuggler / Commando / CM templates? They are out there. Can keep you rooted almost indefinitely in PVP. As can some of the more creative BH templates.
PVP first, make stupid comments later. Get snared for 30 minutes back to back, or try engaging a BH with an SL bot. What fun. I can guarantee your force is going to run out some time.

You forget that snares can easily be slapped on back to back. Not to mention, if the BH is a rifleman he will have 65 meters+ on you by the time the snare ends. Also, if he has a root or a knockdown, those are backups in case the snare misses. Obviously you haven't thought about the plentiful amount of other skills that can be used, just in case that 10% chance of them missing happens.
It takes us forever to get close enough to hit themand the mcm's have our attack speed severely slowed so that once we get within range we can't do enough damage to take them down. Anybody have any techniques that work well against this type of snare + lowered combat speed situation?
Some very competent and poweful Jedi here are believing all the hype and are running scared, the ones thatbecame Jedi while afk grinding on Kashykk ,I do recoomend youstay in doors, while they sort out the pub 24 mess.Jedi...give itA TRY, THE RESULTS MIGHT SURPRISE YOU.

Used it. Cancelled the BH current snare and the BH just put another on me right after.
It should have lasted the duration of the drink (I have1 minute ones).

So what does rancor aid appear under on the galaxy bazaar vendor search? I looked under misc, where food and drinks are listed an did not see any category forRancor Aid.
And what lina was saying about fighting for 30mins with back to back snares from a bhdefinitely feels way off balance. It's crazy how they canstack the snares and reapply. That, coupled with lowering our combat speed as mcm's can is severely crippling. It's bad enough to beforced into a fight and not be able toescape, but if I can't fight back then that's where I draw the line.

I just bought some earlier today (one crate for 80k). I found some on Corelia (vendor search), and there was also some individual bottles of 20 uses for 20k on Dantoine (bazaar search)...under misc, entire galaxie, rancor aid... so you seem to have been on the right track
