You have to admit you did stoke the fire a little lol.... its not nice to laugh at your would be attacker when you kill them. I prefer to say..
"Your first mistake was to take the job"
"And your second mistake just one guy for me? Thats damn insulting"
And to their credit not many of them make that mistake again... ive had tells from a few of the hunters that hunted me before saying "Damn just got your mission again... go offline will you?"

Now it gets serious.....He writes me an email threatening me in real life for running away. Says hell burn my house down and kill me.I report him, a CSR come on and I forward the email to him. The next daya CSR sends me a RL email stating the player has been banned from SWG.
So for all you little kids playing this game remember......its just a game.
I think you took it too seriously it is just a game, and unless you choose to reveal personal information to another player, then you have nothing to worry about. This was harmless, the guy has no idea who you are or where you live unless you revealed the information to him, now you only invite an attack more by getting him banned LOL. I think your story has some holes in it, but it's not my place to question you. If I send someone an in game email and say hey, I am going to burn down your house and kill you, and they get scared and say I am threatening them in real life, then they need to realize it's just a game. I think you overreacted, just delete the email add the kid to your ignore list and keep going, it is just a game and you actually took the 14 year old kid seriously.
If he really had bad intentions all the kid must do is go out and buy another copy of the game, buy a game card and he is back on in 30 minutes well 1 hour with patches, so what did you really accomplish?
I will say if you personally know the person then I can understand why you did it, but getting him banned from SWG does nothing for your protection in real life. You got rid of an in game annoyance that's about it.
Great story...
Question I have: if you killed him, his buffs would have all been lost from the cloning, so he shouldn't have hit a downer when he came after you again?
But it was still funny.

Not sure where your coming from. How do you know if he was 14?I didnt get him banned, he got himself banned.I reported him and forward the email to a CSR. Besides any a$$hole who takes it out of game and crosses the line should be punished. What if he was a 40 year old guy saying this to a 13 year old girl? YaI would have ignored him if he didnt say "in real life" no prob.

Not sure. Im guessing he bufed up after he cloned but got to me too late. I saw the downer "face" under his hams, was the only thing there.

I am glad you didn't tak e it as a flame, it's just a situation I am curious about. It is true I don't know if he was 14, and you are right he could have been 40 years old. The point you make is the risk it takes when you play a game like this, Ihave a lot of friends who's young children play this game, and every minute their child plays the game they are sitting right there with them, to make sure it just stays as a fun game for them.
I understand your point about him saying in real life and taking it out of game, and your actions are justified. I guess I want to know did you really feel threatened by it, or did you brush it off and reported him because he deserved to be reported?
The point I was trying to make is that an SWG CSR banning a player provides you no real life security, and it really only prevents a player from playing the game if they aren't motivated, it's easy enough for him to get another account if he wants. I don't know if you felt threatened in real life, I guess that's my only question. The reason I ask is something similar happened to one of my friends playing the game, and she just ignored the guy and deleted the emails he was sending saying he was going to beat her up in real life, and he knew where she lived etc..., I asked her why she didn't report and she said, because SWG couldn't protect her in real life, so what was the point. The guy apologized to her several days later.
She never felt threatened I guess or didn't care, I am just wondering how people react to these type of situations.

The story goes.......
Im helping friends grind on Tat when I spot a blue dot on my radar. Of course my first thought, since we are in the middle of nowhere,is that its a BH. The guy shows up holding a low lvl sword (to fool me), but hes a cl80 and buffed up the ying yang. He claims he was part of a group thatdisbanned and needs a new group. I buff my self up, play it stupid and invite him into the group.
The BH declines the group invite and tries to take his firstt shot at me.....BUT WAIT....he forgets he equiped the crapy sword and doesnt have his scatter pistol out. (I cant help but laugh at him at this point) Now hes so pissed at himself he cant focus on the fight and I take him down in less than 30 sec. He swears at me and shouts the usual BH "you are using exploits and cheats" and blah blah blah. My friends and I have a good laugh and go back to grinding.
Not more than 5 minutes later, the silly BH returns with scatter in hand. He attacks me right away.....BUT WAIT.....now he doesnt realize that hes on a downer and no food or buffs in him. On top of that, the lag from Tat had cause him problems using his CM stuff on me. He died less than a minute later and the insults continue whileI remained silent. (I find this pisses of the BH even more).
Think this story is over..........
The next day, after logging on, guess who pays me a visit? This time hes buffed and has the right weapon out and ready to fight. His blood is pumping, hes finally readyand all he can think about is defeating this powerful Jedi. So..........
I RUN AWAY AND LOG OFF!
I couldnt think of a better way of pissing him off to the fullest. Woot!

All that I can say is "Wow!" What an idiot. Threatening another person with physical violence over a game? You MUST be kidding. Does this player also realize that such actions will lead him to the wrong end of a firearm someday (Police or his expected victim's)?

wow RL threats are NOT COOL
didnt some jedi get a restraining order against a BH in RL a few weeks back ????
No, from what I saw before it was deleted, this was an already existing RL restraining order that was interpreted to extend to online activities as well. It was deleted since it was a RL legal issue and SoE didn't want any legal issues to arise over it having been on their forums.

Cool story. Out of all the BHs I've run into, my favorite was the CL 44 rifleman who kept using root on me. I asked him why he was doing this when he couldn't possibly win, the response: "Well you can't grind now can you?"
Classique!
Well, won't see any more of those since it requires MBH to hunt players, meaning that you'll be seeing that same CL 54 guy sometime soon. LOL

And the BH somehow got the same mark 4 times in a row, lol

It's very easy to do. At least three of those will be the EXACT payout with the EXACT same "story" for the jedi. Those are easy to find (that's how BH teams are able to coordinate currently).
It would be a bit harder to find the jedi's second (or third) terminal mission, but a jedi with maxed vis will have more than one mission on the terms.
Four, six, perhaps even up to 9 missions are entirely possible, though it does call into doubt the story since this makes it much harder to achieve.
Any screenies to verify?

I dunno the odds are high getting the same mark over and over but if you notice the posts at least once a week lately of someone getting the same bh on them over and over. So Im willing to believe there could be something up with that.
How is that so? If you fail to kill the jedi and are killed as a bh, I believe you still have the jedi's mission. Your not getting the same mark over and over, just the one time.
That is possible, but it would be a bug. The BH's mission is supposed to fail upon their death. More likely is the BH just going to the terminals and looking for the same payout and story. That turns out to be the SAME mission. There is nothing random about those two aspects of the mission-EVERY one of the three missions for the jedi have EXACTLY the same combination of parameters.
