I hate to say it, but ever since I started reading the Jedi forum... It kinda seems like the General forum... only about 1/3 of the posts here are about Jedi, or is that just me?
I don't know if its as low as 1/3 (although it does seem that way lately), but certainly there are those who post here only because they think their "I hate [Garva, Tiggs, the CU, etc.] and everybody should [cancel, sign my petition, email Lucas, etc.]" post will get more replies here.

A Declaration of No Confidence in the Developers of Star Wars: Galaxies
On Behalf of the Player base of Star Wars: Galaxies
Respectfully Submitted to LucasArts, Sony Online Entertainment, and the playerbase at large.
As the individuals responsible for creating and maintaining an entertaining, thrilling, and fair game, enjoyed by fans of Star Wars, while protecting the financial interests of their employers and their partners, thedevelopers are accountable to a large constituency:the players, for whom they must ensure a viable game; their coworkers, for whom they must maintain a productive and welcoming working environment; the families and friends of theseplayers and coworkers, for whom they must uphold a proud and respectable image; and the community at large, for whom they must guarantee economic and communal stewardship of theintellectual propertywith the utmost of transparency and integrity.
The behavior recently exhibited by the Developers of Star Wars:Galaxies compromises all the aforementioned obligations and clearly indicates they are not up to the challenges required of their positions. Their divisive tactics have resulted in irresponsible—and possibly irreversible—harm to morale, undermined their ability to effectivelymanage this Project, and ultimately compromisedtheir professional integrity.
As evidence, we provide a short list of the charges against them.
The Developers of Star Wars: Galaxieshave:
1. Weakenedplayer trust and confidence in Sony Online Entertainment andtheir partnersby aggressively pursuing and encouraging a policy of shortened development cycles, poor testing, lack of communication, and failure to respond to feedback.
2. Tarnished the reputation of the Star Wars franchise by repeatedly violating the player bases basic expectations.
3. Diluted our most valuable pool of ideas and soloutions that would give the game a stronger "Star Wars feel" by flat-outignoring, and, at times, shamelessly moderating productive posts.
4. Misled the general public duringseveral periods in the game, most blatently, the commercials that aired in conjunction with the RotW expansion and CU, while lying to the player base, saying "just give us time".
5. Failed to fulfill the obligations oftheirpositions by refusing to personally discuss disputes, thereby squandering player time, and relegating their own obligations to arguably disinterested parties.
6. Needlessly placed subordinates and their families at risk by failing to maintain a viable level of quality that would ensure a large, and content, playerbase.
For all these reasons it is therefore right and fitting that the player base of Star Wars: Galaxies do hereby formally document and submit this Declaration of No Confidence in the present Developers of Star Wars: Galaxies, and do further petition the management of Sony Online Entertainment, as well as the Management of LucasArts, to remove and seek suitable replacement of saidDevelopers for thispotentially fine and respectable MMORPG.
this my friends is the best post ive ever seen. and it was deleted.

No..not ever again. But no one discusses root causes of a riot while its going on. The riot has to be quelled..then things have to be cleaned up and only after that can you really talk about the issue that started it. This is all a distraction from the issues of the game.
I have been paying attention. I just don't get the feeling that any of this helps. To a certain point being upset gets people's attention...beyond that point it becomes the story and it distracts from the message.
It has cathartic qualities. And that helps.
I agree with that to a point. Beyond that point I think it starts to feed on itself and make things worse. I'll just be happy when we are back to what goes for normal around here

You see? This is an example of exactly what I'm talking about!
There is nothing in the infamous "declaration thread" that specifically deals with the Jedi profession. Do some Jedi agree with the statements in that thread? I would assume so! In fact I agree with some of them myself.
But don't those issues also apply to Tailors, Droid Engineers, and Swordsmen too? Surely you're not going to spam their forums, too?
Of course not.... because the inconsiderate people who are usurping the Jedi forum into "SWG Episode 2: Attack of the Trolls" are only interested in getting their message out using the most efficient means possible. (And perhaps they have a secondary objective: to make the Jedi community look worse than it is already perceived to be)
And to the person who wrote "these aren't YOUR forums", I say: Yes, in fact they are. My main toon on my primary account is a Jedi. This is the Jedi profession forum. I have just as much say in what's discussed here as anybody else. If YOU are a Jedi then YOU do, too.... but if so are you saying its "OK" to turn the Jedi Profession forum away from Jedi matters and into a clone of the General forum? If that's what you're saying, I think you need to re-evaluate your position.
I, for one, am not at all interested in sifting through posts on my profession forum trying to find helpful information about my profession.... only to find posts about Holocron was "better than" Tiggs, whether or not people think GarVa is doing a good job, how I should cancel my subscription and go to WoW, etc. etc. etc.
I come to the Jedi forum to read about Jedi. Not GarVa, Tiggs, or to dwell upon pre-CU days gone forever. Give us a break already, guys, and take it to the General forum.

or by jedi, a great many of the people jumping on the worst threads were not jedi and probably never want to be, but thats ok it's nice to see broad generalisations are still going strong.
i'm not a jedi, it's just whenever one of these things breaks out, i am there. soe needs to get a clue. perhaps this sort of thing helps them to realize that.
In other words, when you see an opportunity to come troll, you jump right in.

The really silly thing about this whole affiar is that the conversation has completely gotten sidetracked from the issues of the profession and the game into a flame contest against the mods and the CR staff. Even if you feel justified in your feelings about them you are only hurting your own profession and your own cause if you defelct the conversation away from the real issues of the game and on to your own personal disagreements about the way CR does their job.
I think this latest outburst stems from the fact that there are many people who WANT this game to succeed, but apparently no amount of discussion of the "issues of the profession" seem to further that. Perhaps people are seeing that healthy discussion do nothing for the betterment of our, or any, profession and are getting fed up.
Sure we can talk about what can make this game better, but have you not been paying attention?

I think the frustration is valid. I just think the target of it should be the people who actually make the design desicions and not at the people who merely communicate it. We cal flame Garva all day long but he has zero input in making the decisions that will make the game better. Thats my point. Its like a mob that has forgotten why they are angry and are just burning down anything they see..not even realizing that they are now torching their own houses.

They are "community relations representatives" and this is the relationship they helped foster.
Do you think everyone is torching their own houses? As in, the devs won't speak to us or listen to us again, I assume. Again, have you not been paying attention...
Maybe we never had a home to burn down in the first place.

yeah, no testing of the new snare changes, how SL might help us grinding/against BH attacks? Where the info?
What about force regen? Is it actually fixed? Still broken? Issues with AB sliced armor not protecting? Issues with saber speed?
These are things I've seen fleetingly before they got bumped into the forum abyss, with countless "OMG, [CM/mod] is abusing me!" posts.
