Thread: Why is everyone complaining about bh's?
Aanu wrote:
Many complain becuase they chose a PVP profession and now as a Jedi actually have to learn how to PVP. The root of 90% of the b1tching on this forum comes from the attitude that it is the right of the Jedi to "pwn all" because of the grind. Now just like everyone else, a Jedi must think about tactics and actually have some skill to be sucessful, so those who just know how to grind are whining. Jedi are still the alpha class, you have the best material to work with out of anyone.
If Jedi spent as much time practicing PVP as they do grinding, things would be different. For some weird reason, just because peple take on a mindless grind that means they should be PVP uber. Wrong!
And yeah, Im grinding a Jedi myself so dont give me that "your toon took 2 days to grind out" crap. I know what the grind is like, and its a mindless joke. Even the hologrind. Completely mindless.
The days of "I win" for Jedi are gone. Adapt or quit, please.Message Edited by Aanu on 10-21-2005 03:44 PM

the reason for the current complain spree is the combo of the new SL buffs, combined with the ability for a bh to bring a SL with him and get buffs while on a mission and then landing 7k hits. The new and improved perma snare/root and its actually gamebreaking.
That along with a 6 month spree of nerfs to the jedi proffession and it gets annoying. and you can ask Golgo about my PvP skills this isnt a matter of a "i win" for jedi, this is a matter of bounty hunters finally getting the "i win" they've been wanting since player bounties were implemented.
Anyone have any hard evidence of 7k hits that are regularly occuring and not some contrived experiment?
Perma anything is a bug and will be addressed. But honestly, Jedi has access to the same roots and snares as anyone else. If you find that you need them, get them.
the problem is : carbines : 50m 65 with ranged arms, rifles : 64 m, 80 with ranged arms, can a jedi root or snare from 80m? no. How can you seriously defend jedi being alpha when you yourself were bragging about a 1700+ pvp rating just from killing jedi. It seems the bounty hunter stupidity has finally gotten to you to.

Yup your right. the fact that one guy has not died is undeniable proof that an entire prof is overpowered and utterly unkillable. What the hell do they teach you kids in school these days? How to create a fantasy world 101?

Ug, my remark was a comment on the reply to my first thread. Settle down.
I never said Jedi were overpowered nor did I say they are unkillable. Stop putting words in my mouth. But all things equal (equipment wise) the Jedi has the best material to work with..and that makes them alpha. YES THERE ARE BAD TEMPLATES OUT THERE. But I firmly believe the skill point investment wise, Jedi have more potential than anyone else.
And the kid remark is laughable, normally I dont even bother on such remarks but having just recieved my Doctorate at age 30 from an Ivy league instution makes me want to see your credentials, brainiac.
The kid remark was actually meant to be taken as a joke but if it makes any difference I an ahonours degree in civil engineering from Edinburgh University.

You took my response to 1 thread out of context. I said I had a PVP rating of 1700+ from Jedi but I also said that that includes AFK kills and advantagous use of first strike. I made it clear that I am not a conventional PVPr nor should my rank be taking as such.
I just want you to disagree about the following, that skillpoint for skillpoint, Jedi has the capability to be more powerful than any other character. You can refute that all you want, but Ive probably fought more Jedi than you, and I know what they are capable of.

No harm, no foul. My wife is a civil engineer and I am mechanical engineer. Scottish eh?

I have no problem fighting bhs but the mcm are the most hard ones to fight and if you still grindngit's best todie from a bh if your 80 cause it won't matter.
I had 2 days of this same bh go after me and pretty much wasted my time fighting him and running away. The time it took would of gotten the xp back ore.
Now i am a full temp padawanand I already have pvp experience and the grinding don't make you know how to use your padawan so i see no reason why other cry about making jedi grind harder.
What the diff they still won't be able to know their jedi if they never pvped in their life.

no their are not, ive fought jedi as a bh, ive fought jedi as a jedi and ive fought jedi as a melee/doc stacker. now if you look at pure skills, no equipment, a jedi with a 4th gen with no pearls/crystals vs a bh with a CDEF carbine without armor, yes the jedi is more powerful.
If you calculate in the equipment the scale tips in favor of the non jedi, with a saber doing 621 - 725 damage, i can not hit a bounty hunter in 8k recon for over 600 damage every 2 seconds, which can be healed off in 1 heal. on a bh using duelist stance, with 330 accuracy i still miss 1 out of 3 attacks.
So yes, skillpoint for skillpoint not counting equipment jedi are more powerful, counting equipment jedi are alot weaker than non jedi.
If jedi were given the option to get more equipment for instance powerups, armor, armor break slices, didnt have the force bar to rely on and could heal as well as non jedi. then jedi would have the option to get more power than non jedi. At this point, i can go out and tank pretty much any jedi out of force and then kill them.
Try hunting a jedi with 75% armor break sliced 8k recon armor, 0-0-0-4 CM, and then master rifleman and see how easy it is. I went out on my first jedi player mark, fresh off the investigation grind and killed a pre cu jedi, with a pre cu saber 700+ damage, then i went out and killed another one, both full templates. And that was someone who never hunted jedi before.
Now argue that as you will but an elite master at this point with good equipment is easily 1.5 of a jedi.

and to some new jedi I would agree this be true but you are off some... Looking at the whole picture jedi are getting nerfed more and more while BH gets more and more to help them.. Saber dont do damage nowhere close to some weaponry out there.. BH can get thier armor armor break sliced.. So yes they have the overall advantage and are stronger to a point... As to the part where people need to learn how to fight as a jedi, that I fully agree with.. Knowing your skills in pvp and practicing is the key to any profession if you are to pvp, not just jedi. But with all the jedi coming about it was only a matter of time before we got gimped.. All well, adapt and overcome.. Its a game and meant to have fun, not pawn all.. If you cant fight as a jedi you better just get force run or cloak and go hide..
