no

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Never, unless devolopers do something like...

  • Penalties for revieling force powers in static cities

    • saber tef

    • imperial guard

    • vis...(known)

    • ect..

  • OR...

    • Remove and totally revamp jedi, reset all those who were jedi, and replace them all as initates

Supposedly, according to the naysayers (Jedi Haters, Uber Canon freaks, et al), 80% of the game has a Jedi or is working towards it.

Yep, let's see. 75% of the Jedi playing quit (being generous with 25% staying) because they can't do much other than just die and get XP Loss to FOTM BH who can perma-snare them et al.

The remaining in the FS system see the Jedi population just bleed off, and about 70% of them quit in frustration.

That means ~50% of the game has quit, servers have to be consolidated, and the money dries up, developers released, game goes into shutdown mode.

Great future for the game, eh?

Did you know
SOE has changed this game 3 times
Jedi went from being an Icon to a normal profession
The combat system is being reduced to Enemy Territory online

Here's a brilliant idea why don't they acctually ask the player base.

Try reading all the threads in the various profession forums, basic thread is "Make my profession ubber over all others", although not in those exact words but you get the point. Unless people are willing to actually think it all the waythru on how there ideas will affect other professions, I don't see the Dev's listening to us much.

Another solution is making jedi incredibly difficult to get.....which will never happen since 90% of start playing, do so wanting to become a jedi. If people hear it's to hard to become a jedi, not as many will continue to play and pay their $15 a month. But it would need to something like a mix of the hologrind mixed with the village. Instead of getting a couple EASY badges, make it so you HAVE you master all 30+ professions (or maybe just all the combat professions and one crafting...jedi are suppose to be "jack of all trades"). Using a holocron willexempt up to four professions at random. THEN you unlock the ability to start the village (revamped of course). Make the padawan trials a bit more difficult and make the knight trials a real challenge. Then they would need a FRS that's NOT based on PvP (to easy to exploit) but once gained enough FRS xp unlocks a Guardian Trial and eventually a Master trial. After knight you start to become increasing more and more powerful (not like how the old FRS where is it was very minor, except for force lightning for dark jedi masters). Also have other character classes that give an alternative to jedi but are just as difficult to achieve....like Mandolrian for ranged/BH and Teras Kasi Grandmaster for melee fighters. This is just a rough brainstorm of course, but it would help equal out the jedi population, add more content, and give others something to work towards other than jedi.

With the turnover at SoE, it seems many of the devs have a year or less experience with the game. On the other side, there are quite a lot of players who have been here for 2+ years. In terms of getting a clue, ignorance has an easy solution: Education. Stupidity is another matter entirely.

there's a simple solution to this...

GIVE EVERYONE A JEDI (sound familiar?)

make jedi suck (sound familiar?)

let only high ranking FRS jedi be "uber" (still a real possiblity)

this would let soe keep its promise (and its subscribers) by letting anyone be a jedi. They never once promised everyone that they would have a good jedi.
