The art of war is a book about warfare, not playing a video game in easy mode with no risk. Warfare has considerable risk.

Please don't debase such a classic work by trying to associate yourself with it. You are no great strategist.

You are a dude playing a video game trying to make yourself look L337 to a bunch of people who actually have the courage to accept the challenge of playing the game in an asymetrical risk/reward scenario.

When I can pre-emptively attack you to eliminate you as a threat, then we'll talk about Sun Tsu.

Until then you shall remain a bottom feeder.

People seem to have forgotten the aspect of Roleplaying in this game and take many things personally. Don't feel insulted when someone rp's their character. Many people talk about the lack of strategy in this game but when someone finally plays with strategy, a whole community begins an uprise againts the individual by calling him bottom feeder, L337, etc.

People can apply classical pieces of work, such as Sun Tsu's teachings, to their roleplaying. This is a role playing game, yes?

There is a difference between roleplaying and trying to brag. I believe this is the latter sir.

Actually, classic strategy books and teachings aren't just for warfare, they are life lessens. Much like the Bible, Tora, and Koran, the lessens can be translated into anything you do. Martial Arts talks about chi/ki, balance, and inner strength...does this mean that they are only to be applied in a Dojo or street fight? No. They are lessens on life. I have used various philosophies in video games, writing, soccer, and the millitary. I used sun tzu and Buddahism in my dealings with the military, and used Speech 101 during combat. Psychology and warfare are interrelated. Even physics can be applied. Was Einstein just a scientist? He was also a theorist and philosopher. When you can bridge these different aspects into roleplaying, you can add more depth to the experience and enrichen the experience of others...including those that just lost experience due to a kill. When I pick a mark, the jedi made the mistake of being on the terms and has no right to complain about the outcome. I didn't corpse camp him or bring friends. He lost xp, I gained some creds. He or she is off the terminals now and can regrind the xp in less than a few hours.

I am not a bottom feeder or scumbag. Whining Jedi who spawn camp, exploit, and ebay are. The jedi who don't do these things are to be respected, but they are sadly few and far between. You don't have to like that I kill jedi, but it is a fact of the game, and what you signed up for.

You are a bottom feeder by definition. Sorry bro. Its simply true. Look it up.

You clearly referenced Sun Tsu with respect to combat, and it was in the context that I responded.

The funny part is how your OPpretended it was "your friend's" views that you were representing. Now, you've confirmed what some of us were clever enough to realize all along.

You would present yourself as anhonorable, tactically savy, clever BH.

I will accept you at your word in these areas.

I will also remeber that you play the game in easy mode.

Until you can play the game in hard mode, your advice is of little use to me. For I live with the asymeterical risk every time I log on. I have leveled without cheats or exploits. I have over-come EVERY SINGLE BH who would hope to discourage my advancement. I have enjoyed combat with those BH who truely seek to enjoy the game with me, instead of at my expense. I was a MBH 6 weeks after this game went live. I know both sides of the coin my friend.

You can quote Sun Tsu all day, but until you are willing to bring something to the table, I am going to reject your attempt to brag on our forums.

I don't hate you. I don't dispise you. But most of all, I do not fear you.

This post shows how truely "full of yourself" you actually are. Who do you think you are talking to with your little with your little "life lessons" speach? That whole paragraph is COMMON KNOWLEDGE that you spew as if your the first person to think of it. We all know these things son, if your gonna win in life you have to get beyondmulti-disciplined learning 101.

I like it, getting surprised and killed by a master dancer would be something Id talk about for months lol, thats true RP right there, infiltrate the targets life, learn their habits, then when theyre complacent, theyre dead. If I were killed by someone like that, they would get a /kowtow from me, because they know how to play their profession. I have never hated the BH's that come after me (or the BH rather, only been hunted once). And I think player bounties are a good thing. If a novice LS padawan is foolish enough to find themselves on the terminals, or any jedi for that matter, they deserve exactly what they get. I only got on the terminals once because I was stupid, and goofing off, any jedi serious about what they do has no excuse for getting high enough visibility to warrant a BH's attention.

BH's aren't bottom feeders...they are just another profession.

You clearly referenced Sun Tsu with respect to combat, and it was in the context that I responded.

I thought that the posts and references are an interresting outlook into their mindset

So you are playing with permadeath? Dang, I must be playing in easy mode too! Xp loss isn't hardcore, it's just mildly annoying.

Lol like most people here are true role players. And when the so called "role players" come to the forums and question the character of the person behind the toon, then its not role playing anymore.

Wow

I am so sick of the BH excuses....

"You knew becoming a jedi would be difficult. Live with it!"

"You should have never became a jedi then!"

etc etc etc.......

Too be perfectly honest, when I was a BH (before I got my Jedi) I DID hunt for the money. Yeah thats right, the money. Not the griefing etc....

Here is what I would do. I would pick on low level paddys, and get their mission. I would run out to them and incap them THEN drop the mission without DBing them. You know why? Cuz then that jedi, and every jedi that was with him helping him grind, would thank me and tip me for not killing him. Right there I just turned a 100k paddy mission into a 2 million credits in my pocket mission.

I didnt get any joy from griefing, and I didnt really grief. I would incap them and immediately drop the mission whether they tipped me or not. But they always did.

Now I was definately a smart BH...........

Your money, your choice. For my money, I love playing a BH and completeing a mission til its conclusion, win or lose. And playing the game the way its set up is not griefing, no matter how much want to call it that. I suppose if someones playing a fps and consatntly gets killed by snipers then he can call all snipers griefers? Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Not a ganking griefer that only gains pleasure in ruining another persons day, but a member of an honorable profession whos goals are to provide balance to the Universe while making a little profit in the process.

I hear the flame-post starting already, but please read this whole post before formulating your responses.

I do not hate the jedi. Quite the contrary, I have the utmost respect for them. They are my prey, and my adversaries. I hunt them without prejudice, without emotion, and most certainly, without malice. I do know what they go thru, and how hard the grind is. I am another of those obsticles. I am part of your learning curve.

I hunt alone, or with 1 other. I am a MHB/M Pistols, a purist as it were. Even with the odds stacked against me, I find a way to win. I always find a way.

I am the ultimate in deviousness, the culmination of years of practice, planning and plotting. I am not the Bh that suddenly appears on your radar guns a blazing, but the one that you look up at with astonishment. I will follow my mark for days. I will wait and wait. You won't know who I am. I don't choose a a low level padawan because there is no challenge in it, and if it was just credits I needed, I can make them faster just doing Quenker missions, or Janta or Mokk. I don't extort or offer buyouts. I may be that Doctor that you want the buff from, that Artisan that has a new crystal or pearl, or even your guildmate. You never know, and that is the tool of my trade. Fear.

I don't want jedi nerfed. In fact, I want the opposite, I want them to be stronger. What glory is there in defeting the crippled warrior?

I hear and read what the Jedi write about Bounty Hunters. It takes a lot for me to stay true to my calling after reading some of the posts. You complain about everything. You claim that I know nothing about what it's like...well, by the same token, you most likely don't have a clue what it's like to be a Bounty Hunter. You don't understand the frustrations that can come from playing against a character. You complain about hate tells... you have no idea. I recieve hate tells from players that I killed a month ago. They threaten me with all sorts of things. I have been banned from cities, and I have been 'stalked' by players seeking revenge.

You see, I won't attack you when you are buffed and have your saber equipped. I won't attack you when you are grinding on Dantooine. I won't even attack you when you are afk. I will attack you as you are getting a mind buff. I will attack you when you are fightclubbing. I will attack you when you think you are safe. You are never safe. Ever.

I find that there are many in my profession that don't play by my rules, but don't judge me by that same yardstick. Some are indeed scum, and others are as respectful as I am. In my experience, Jedi and Bounty Hunters alike, have those silly few that are just out to be face-to-face PVP monsters. I am above that. Don't lump me with them.

Do I believe in player bounties? Yes

Do I believe in killing Padawans? Yes...but only a select few that are worthy of my attention.

Do I kill Knights and Guardians? Yes.

Do I gank or use PSG's? No, and often times I am not even buffed when I attack...people are less threatened by the unbuffed Dancer

My greatest feat to date too me a month of planning, and they still aren't sure who killed them. That is my reward.
