I know template threads have been done to death, so apologies...
With a double mastery template, given the choice of the following two options which would you pick?
Healer 4040
or
Healer 3000, Defender 0020
I have been working towards the latter, but I'm beginning to think that without more innate/Imp Aura that 1000 heals aren't enough. I got into a duel yesterday with a MDef, and someone else close to MDef and it wasn't long before I was healing - and the heals weren't that great.
Would I lose a lot of defence by having no aura and no innate from the Defender tree? Would this be outweighed by the additional +500 heal per tick of Adv Force Heal?
Other reason I'm starting to like the look of the first option is that it includes Force Sap, which is apparently very useful against non-Jedi, and even unbuffed Jedi to a degree.
Any thoughts?

standard aura wont help you enough in pvp comepared to the power of the extra 500 in heals and improved sap.

If i went a double-mastery i wud go with the 4000heals. From my point of view, u already hav cloak (depending if ur more of a pvp'er or pve'er) it wud get you out of bad situation, going down the path of 3000heals 0020defender...well ok ull hav alittle aura but not really enuf, u wud still take alot of damage and the heals wud not b big enuf 2 heal the damage 2 take where as the 4xxx heals wud make up 4 it. Other ppl here will giv u other advice...but thats what i wud do with that temp..and atleast ud never get hit by a bounty with ur stasis and cloak
unless ur afk ofcourse lol

I have always been wondering... I like the sound of this template a lot since I am not a preCU jedi (and will necessarily have a crappy saber) and don't plan to master LS. I fear that I will never manage to be really dangerous with my saber... especially against other jedi.
Does Mpowers have enough damaging capacity to kill a BH and possibly a Jedi? or just an ability to run away?

Thanks.
You've both said what I was thinking deep down.
I thought I could get away with 3000 Healer, 0020 Defender and that it would be a good comprimise between the two but in all honesty once I got into the routine of healing during those duels, the writing was on the wall.
Whereas Imp Aura is awesome, I'm not sure regular Aura is equivalent to +500 heal ticks, especially with a double mastery template that would give me a lot of Force anyway, as well as "Drain Force". In other words, I could probably live longer by healing the extra damage I was getting from no Aura vs trying to keep them both up.
Any other people wanna comment?

BH definitely, most will assume you are melee - plus Choke does serious damage to non-Jedi. You'd probably miss not having an Armor Break, but you could always pick up 0400 LS (as some other people do).
The grim reality at the moment though is that whilst Powers is supposed to be "a viable alternative to LS", the damage you deal out is too easily mitigated and in some cases reflected back to you by other Jedi to make it truly effective.

I see this alot but my choke does about 380 per tick to non-jedi and about 7 to jedi. I wouldnt call that good damage much less serious...

Literally 7 dmg?
My Choke was doing ~150 damage to a MDef who had Aura up. 150 is of course terrible, but its not as bad as 7!

Musta been an enhancer you were going up against if you were only doing 7 per tick..

Nope.. way to much force drain and you hit for way too low DPS the only thing you have is choke that works, and you gotta hope that sticks

The biggest debate I have heard concerning this is whether 4040 healer or 4004 healer...and whether states will really be an issue in the future like they used to be.
I've tested Sap and Shock (as far as actually testing it in duels for that purpose) and they don't seem to be as great as they are supposed to be. I'd say either 4040 or 4004 would be fine. I would not suggest sacrificing 1500 heals for a little defender.

With the current 6 second heal timer 4xxx healer is a must in my book. The old heal timer you could get away with 3xxx just fine, but I don't think you can do so anymore. At least with a template that's not master defender.
