Firstly i got Jedi padawan last night, i had a quick blast with my new Saber for around Half Hour out in the Wild on Dantooine, quenkers nearly killed me, so i have a few questions.
1: I still am a TKM, so my HAM bars are set up for that, what would u recomend as the best Stat set up?
2: What should i be killing and where to get Novice Saber?
3: Does my robe decay?

what i have for my basic stats are 950 health 400 substats, 950 action 400 substats, and 1100 mind 400 substats. you dont use up your hams with saber specials so you dont need as much into the substats. since you are tka.. your powerboost will put you at 1500/1500/1650... and if you need it, you can pop two 1100 50 fill vercupti for 3700 hams or so.
and no, robes will not decay whatsoever.

First off you should get all the novice boxes. Its good that you are tka that will help early on immensely with melee def, meditation and your brawler skills will be invaluable as well such as Intimidate(probaly the best status affect in the game) and center of balance. Write yourself a nice little COB macro that loops if you dont already have one, this helps alot believe me. Novice medic helps out alot as well if you can spare points to get it and use good stim b's.At first til you get your first saber moves your best bet is to just use berserk over and over til you get novice saber, does more damage. Very important, keep your speeder very close by for when you get in those sticky situations, one thing that i do is hide it inside the lair that i am attacking, for one it is close and second if the BH's ever come a calling it will give you that split second you will need to flee since they cant see it to target it. Have a mount swoop macro in a quick slot so you can just hit one button and you are on your way.
Hunting.....My advice to you is to stay off Lagtooine, it is the most densley populated planet on any server do to player cities and players grinding. Someone is bound to run into you using your saber on dantooine thus raising your visibility and when the day comes when you make your first appearance on the BH terms dont make it easy on the BH. You can ask any BH and he tell you most of his marks and most of his kills more than likey always occur on dant.
Hunt on Endor, start with crazed gurreck missions, they are about 6000 cr on the terms and each kill should give you about 650 exp if you are grouped with your pet/mount. Once you get some saber moves try killing arachne drones, they do poison but you should be ok with your meditation after each battle, they give around 700 exp grouped with a mount. Get those type of missions and as you are on your way look out of for other lairs, swirl prongs, robas etc etc just dont take more than 2 at a time.
good luck

Question.....Center of balance is profession specific (i.e. Unarmed Center of Balance Duration). So what good would having a CoB macro while using a saber do? Would it actually affect anything or just be thrown out the window?

This is a good way to handle the quenkers especially since you do not have any saber specials until you get novice lightsaber.
Since you have TK, keep intimidate1 on each of the quenkers and use berserk1 to up the damage you hand out. Make sure you group with your droid or petbut don't bring them with you.
You should be getting roughly 530 - 580 of xp with each kill.

My advice is just find a place that has low NPC/PC traffic and take your time and lvl up.
It will take a bit of time to get lightsaber novice but after you get it you'll kill much faster.
I leveled up to lightsaber novice on Talus at Lost Village of Durbin and the Vynock Caves.
Talus on my server is pretty dead so it was safe lvling up there.
It took some time to get exp and once I hit lightsaber novice I moved to hunting on Endor.
Hope that helps some!
Good luck.

Ok, since you don't even have novice saber, you need to do this-
Find lairs with 20kish HAMs. Use your saber ONLY to beat on the lair itself. Use TKM skills to kill the spawns. You will get around 500-600 Jedi Xp killing the Lairs. It will take too long to kill Spawns with the training saber. So you will need to kill about 40 or so lairs to get enough exp for Novice Sabers. Once you get Novice Sabers, you can make a better saber and actually kill the spawns with it.
Quenkers are decent xp, around 570ish if your Grouped and they don't DB.
Crazed Gurrecks are good too, around 670ish if your Grouped. They aren't social, so if your careful, you can just kill them 1 at a time and not worry about Aggro. But, they do DB, so have a speeder nearby for easy getaway.
Im currently 0021 sabers and still beat on Crazed Gurrecks and Quenkers. I might try Fierce Borgles now. Im also 1000 enchance, and novice in the rest of the Jedi choices. The more Force you have the better. Good luck and have fun. The Jedi grind is daunting, but so far, I'm not burnt yet. About to start my journey to Double Bladed III.

If you are a brawler you can use COB doesnt matter what weapon your are using, it helps you avoid getting hit and unless im mistaken but i have een using itin my jedi grind and it works, they do miss more often then they hit. Could be combinations of melee def and jedi toughness alsobut im pretty sure it does benefit you to use COB. We can use intimidate and warcry as brawler/jedi why not COB, jedi are melee fighters.

Well see thats the question.....
Intimidate and warcry are not weapon specific, wheras Cob IS specific to the weapon. I am a brawler as well and use Intimidate extensively but have never bothered using Cob with my LS cause I figured it wouldnt work.

It works, try it. Not only do i see them missing in the combat window but COB actually does engage when you hit the button, it gives you the standard COB message when it comes on and when it ends. COB is really not weapon specific it can be used for any melee weapon, unarmed, swords, fencer, pikeman and saber.
lol, lightsaber and COB...
