Thread: A Question Concerning XP: To bank, or not to bank?

Iam wondering how current jedi xp will be carried over into the NGE environment. I am currently in the negatives, and am debating whether or not to grind it out and then start banking xp, or to not even bother? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Elder Jedi will have the option of going to level 90, but at the max will only convert to level 80 to start with. This means more grinding for us.
This being said, wouldn't the newer jedi have an advantage over us full temps?Since most of us are in the negatives as we've stopped grinding,when this goes live many new jedi will have surplus xp. Correct me if I'm wrong again, but this is a reward for the Elder jedi, and I don't see how this could work out.
My question is this: Is negative xp being wiped? And if so, what about those newer jediwho have worked to attain positive xp, and how will this affect the NGE grind to CL 90? Really I am at a loss to see how this could fairly work out for both the newer and older jedi players.
The only reason I am skeptical about xp is becausewe don't know if levelling will be easier/harder when the NGE goes live, and since we are being presented with new levels to reach, I want to know if there is anything I can do now that would carry over and help with that. Any insight would be appreciated, as I am sure that I'm not the only one wondering as to how current XP and the new CL's will work out in the end.

I, too, am wondering the same thing. I saw posted somewhere that all xp was being wiped but as we both know, most posts on this forum are just rumors. /shrug

That's another thing- I have no clue as to what to believe as credible posts or not anymore. But I do know that I've yet to see a logical explanation as to how this whole current xp/CL 90 thing is going to work out...

Well seeing as there isn't going to be anymore Negative XP I am assuming there won't be any XP at all (converting over that is)

tiggs said negative xp wont carry over and she doesnt't know if positive xp will carry over. its somewhere on the devtracker.

ok i acctually read this on the dev forum some where i think it was tiggs that answered this no jedi xp will carry over all lvl 80 jedi will respec to lvl 80 jedi and have to grind/quest up to lvl 90.

Simple, you'll just become a CL 80 (or lower level if you areat lower level before NGE hits live) Jedi (or anything else) with just the required xp to be CL 80, and all the skill up to that point...
I seriously doubt they will bother with negative or stocked xp...

Actually I don't mind having to quest to acheive level 90 because it will hopefully be fun doing so.

Negative XP is definitely being wiped out. I believe this was in one of the official announcements. Unsure if banked XP will be used.
If you're bored now, and can't get into TC (like everyone else but the AFK protesters), may as well login to live and do some grinding to bank some XP.

Ok, good to know for a fact that negative XP is being wiped out.
As far as grinding goes,I will take my chances with the new system of questing, etc. as I think that the NGE overall is a good change (I'll admit that the CU was unbalanced as hell). But back to the subject at hand,I for one would like to hear an official statement regarding positive xp, as although it doesn't affect me directly, I think I'm not alone in saying that that's definitley notan issue to be brushed aside. And heck, maybe if we did get some answers, people with the timecould bank xp with some kind of confidence that it won't all be swept away...

I remember reading a post, I think by Tiggs, that said negative xp does NOT carry over. The question still remains "If negative xp doesn't carry over, will positive xp carry over?"

Another interesting distinction is that "Jedi xp" no longer exists. The xp system has been consolidated into 3 types; combat, crafting, and social. Therefore, if positive xp carries over, then all combat xp types will carry over and translate (ex: unarmed, rifle...)

acctually niether do i since ive tried the cu for 3 hrs then damn thing shut down havnt been able to get in since. but the quests seem pretty coll so far and it seems to be a hell of a lot faster than just trying to grind it out.
