Thread: Jedi and the GCW
1) Jedi initiates can't choose which faction to join. This is really annoying for those that are in an Imperial guild as you cannot gain any group benefits to playing with your friends. I know that Jedi are supposed to be mainly solo characters, but why should a Jedi player with Rebel friends be better off than one with Imp friends? Following on from that, it seems silly that they just float over to the dark side if they get the exp and choose to learn that skill.
2) Jedi cannot gain ranks in either faction army. Because you can't talk to a recruiter and can't 'join' a faction, you can't gain any rank or benefit from it.
3) Jedi cannot gain any faction perks. Again, because you can't talk to a recruiter, you can't spend faction on armour or other items.
To be honest, I'm not a dedicated star wars fan half as much as some of you guys and girls are, so I'm not clear on the Jedi lore. But from what I saw in the films, Jedi were very much part of the GCW, if not, the main characters in the war, so shouldn't Jedi be able to take part much more flexibly? Jedi should be able to go overt if they want to - you can't really say Darth Vader was any bit covert.
How does the rest of the Jedi community feel about this?
Get with it! It is because the light side is the quick and easy path, now. That is also whylight Jediget a tree of powers in knight that Dark Jedi have to wait until master boxes to get. And it is also why they have more force power and force regen thanthe Dark Jedido through outthe majority of the profession trees. If the movies were anything like this game Annikan would have never turned to the darkside and there would have been no story.

i agree with all but one point... dark get more force power than light... but light gets WAY WAY WAY more regen.

WHat I don't understand about Jedi and the GCW is why does a pvp add to my deathcount? I mean now with decay and insurance fixed players in gcw lose little. But a Jedi can only play for about 5 minutes and then have to log for a week.

IGNPC: How does that apply to Jedi? Jedi have serious penalties for grouping, so it seems that in the new system, the players who have in most cases invested the more time and energy into the game are finding it hard to level up on their own and attacked by bounty hunters when they join up in groups.
Dallas Dickinson: We are looking at Jedi. Jedi are certainly an area where we have some balance issues that we're totally aware of. When I see complaints on the boards and issues raised up to me about Jedis, they're valid concerns and we're working hard.
The thing to understand about Jedi is that it's a separate system from the rest fo the game and it's meant to be. We can address their problems separately, and we will. It should not interact as much with the rest of the population. If you know where we stand in the timeline, Jedi aren't supposed to be hugely involved with the rest fo the player base. We're addressing those and those are some of our highest priority issues. The Players who play Jedi are very vocal and very committed, and they're seeing a little bit of strain right now. It's valid, and we're working on those problems.
