Doubt it cause you cant change professions after you select it. One of my toons will be Jedi just to see what this is going to bring. The other will be a trader.

I think everyone is gonna be surprised at how soon people will respec out of jedi. From what they have descibed so far from Jedi, it appears like they may be an equivilent to a Paladin in WoW as far as pros and cons.
The only thing listed as a ranged attack is Lightning and even then it is sounds more of a debuff then a damage attack to me.
When people see there is just swinging the glowstick and it being hard as hell to to take on ranged people because they are almost completly restricted to melee, popularity is gonna fall off.
My guess is 50% at most will stay a Jedi after there last respec. The only people that will play a jedi are the ones that want to play jedi instead of everybody playing one because they are the ultimate class.

140%
Id say40 percent of the SWG population has unlocked Jedi giving them another character slot.
So 100% of the players will /respec Jedi. Then the 40% Jedi population will Also /respec there second character slot to Jedi.
This along with the new expansion of course.
Star Wars Galaxies:Jedi!A dime a dozen.
Yeh will be very very very high as there is no reason not to pick Jedi now. I mean you can re-spec w00t and you get no more BH's w00t
Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to.......Jedi Side : Revenge of the CU

I do agree the number of Jedi in the first month or so is gonna be extremly high because all these people that aren't jedi now will repsec to it to give it a try. Once people see Jedi is no longer a class thats better than all the others and is now balanced, most will drop it and play what they want to play.
Even of jedi is equal to others, what makes you think people will not stay one ? After all, it's the paramount of the SW universe and basically this is what 90% of the community is (was)workingtowards right now.

You get 9 respecs each.Oh, and 70%... the other 30% will be BH. This game is dead.
I think ultimately it will be less than it is now because the only ones who will stick with Jedi will be those who do so for the iconic aspect of it. They are stripping all the "power" out of it. So sure some people who have never played it before will jump on it but playing a melee profession in a click based combat system won't be for everyone. I think ultimately the numbers will even out a bit. I Don't think BH will end up being as big either becasue it won't be the Jedi hunter profesion any longer.

People working towards it now are doing it because Jedi is an elite class, stronger than normal professions and in most cases if you wanna stand a chance against a Jedi, you have to be a Jedi yourself which is why you see this "if you can't beat em join em" thing that is going on right now. Also, people like to strive for things they have to get like a challenge. Now that it is handed out at the onstart and even with all other classes, Jedi popularity is gonna dimish big time.
