Thread: Giving up MP; losing patience to continue playing SWG

As a pre publish 9 unlock Jedi I had the opportunity of experiencing the former Jedi temp. At that time being a Jedi was an awesome feeling. Even though I was easy pickings to BH's, the higher lvl Jedi put fear into ppl and their strength was comparable to what Lucas had envision Jedi to be; powerful. The only problem with Pre 9 Jedi was it's profession was just too boring; no creativity in being different from other Jedi.


After pre 9 I was looking forward to the possibilities of being different from other Jedi. This would make JEDI PvP more interesting to play. Allow for more creativity and player skills. When CU hit I was ok with it and modified my gameplay to it.


During all of these changes I watched how the Jedi profession and it's fear it instilled in other players and those that looked at Jedi as the ultimate challenge, slowly diminish to just an average profession.


I saw how ppl were selecting the FOTW profession in order to compete in this CU format. I didn't want to go that route. Being on the dark side I envisioned being a Master of Powers player instead of a MLS. I remember reading the devs suggested trying to make MP a more viable option since so many ppl had avoided it. I decided to put my faith in the devs and grinded my butt off to Master Powers. During the Double experience weeks I remember being one of the few going Powers.


I knew that Powers could not be comparable to MLS, but with M Enhancer and alot of skill this profession could work and it made the gameplay challenging. The cloaking ability we had was one of those skills that was needed to survive against most ppl.


Well with this change to cloak I am going to have to say Buh Bye Bye to Powers. I do hope the devs will allow for us to have another respec because it would be unfair have to regrind all those points since they never gave anyone knowledge they weren't going to make Powers a viable profession and cripple the profession all together.

Yea theya re forcing everyone to become the same garbage. Its so so sad man .... This game has gone down the tubes.... WoW here I come..

/vote for a respec as well, or i can just cancel my account and wait patiently for middle earth online to come out

I am awaiting Middle Earth Online as well... Well actually Lord of the Rings Online. It was changed after Turbine picked it up from Vivendi. I am also waiting on 2007 Star Trek Online.

I cannot figure for the life of me, why the Dev's are forcing Jedi to be same to be effective. If you ask me that is piss poor planning on their part. If you are not the FOTM you gimped period.com. They must hate Master Powers jedithe most, because they have not done anything at all including the Jedi correspondant to fix our discipline.

I understand you and agree with you completely.


I was grinding to master powers. I just came to a stop andthought a minute. What am I doing?


Spending my game days killing stupid creatures to avoid visibility togrind my template peacefully. Then what ?


Start exploring SWG content with my jedi and have BH come at me severals time a day (I can either run (quite harder now with the cloak nerf coming up), die (and thus lose many stupid hours of grinding)) because a wookie or a gungan saw me and called 911 BH agency ? So if I want to experience content, I'm gonna be interrupted all the time? If the BH kills me I lose ? and if I miraculously kills him I lose too ?? And I spent 15 damn weeks to unlock my jedi ? All this for a regular profession? This is all nonsense to me.


Well I really need a break. I just went to another online game for a time. As for the next expansion, I'll just read these boards to see how it is coming (last time I tried to register for beta, link was broken - how surprising). Anyway, At this time the magic is gone for me and I am moving away for a time and see how I feel later. At this moment I don't feel like playing anymore. And if I leave, yes you can have my stuff, if you find a cheat to get my 265 base dps lightsaber, that is, cos that's all I have to give.

Sony must be looking to cut back on income to lower them to the next lower tax bracket. Because this can't be good for them, People bored, quiting due to all the nerfing of the most persued class ever! But your right no respect for us nothing but loathing for us and the devs agree cause the jedi I am isn't what the jedi was that we all wanted so bad and would we really have spent 2 yrs in persuit of jedi If we knew what we know now? Yea it is easier to get jedi know than then but I unlocked thru holo grinding and only cloak was what made this version of jedi and fun. Cuss you got very few options with jedi MLS/Mdef the boring tank tough but very grey. Or the more colorfull MLS and dabble, but never master in any of the others they suk if a BH comes for ya

I also have decided to not buy the next expansion. I had hope to stick with this game until I reached my goal; Jedi Master. Having to pay 30 plus dollars just so I can continue playing as a diminshed Jedi is just not worth it.


I guess I will wait til I hear news on the forum what others think of the expansion.
