I learned this in Beta and have already helped many friends who have suffered the 2 frames per second nightmare called Mustafar.
This is the trick:
1. Boot up Station Launchpad and sign In
2. On the bottom Left - Click on the Game Options Tab
3. Next Select the Graphics Tab at the Top Left
4. On This screen change the vertex/pixel shader settingfrom "Optimal"....to "1.4"
5. Hit Ok and boot in the game...most people will see their FPS go from 2 to about 20...and you don't lose anything really.
Anyway, I hope this helps...it helps me big time.
There is also a command like FlushGraphicsResources or something like that, which really helps clean up the memory leak caused from un-used information being stored on your RAM...I hit this when I start lagging bad and it helps flush my RAM and I start moving good again. I will look the command up as its in a macro on my pc....anyway, try this and hope it helps.

Not necessary for thoes of us who have 2+ gigs of ram
, Some peoples FPS and frame rate get way out of sync so it causes lag.

/flushG full works too
I prefer turning pixel shaders completely off. I can deal with plain non-textured waters and removed shiny surfaces. It's much nicer to play at 29fps and actually see the swoosh of your lightsaber =P
