I dont know if this has ever been noticed before but i recently started playing back after 6 months (well yesterday), so I really apologise if there has been a descusion about this:

DOnt worry its a different way of marketing the game . Try it offline for a while with a few missions and cities and when youve reached a certain lvl you get offered the real game that we play online.

There's a Tiggs post about this (sorry don't have sticky atm) but this is a misprinted promo for KOTOR2. There is no Star Wars Galaxies starter kit even though it has been mistakenly advertised. (to summarize Tiggs btw)

Notice the following...

Features:

Choose the light or the dark side of the Force based on your characters actions as you progress through the story

For 1 player

Sequel to the award-winning role-playing game

All-new Force powers, weapons, locations, characters and classes

Cameo appearances from memorable characters of the first game

This is a misprint for Knights of the Old Republic 2

I love how they'll word things to sell little plastic discs....

Call me crazy, but I am so addicted to SWG that even after they do shut the servers down, I hopethey will somehow offera way to play it single player or with a few friends over a LAN, much like CS with POD BOTS....

Good thing about that one is that while there won't be much of anyone else around to interact with (I am a loner type anyway) at least the game will remain the same from then on...no more nerfage. LOL

I REALLY hope that you are right Vegitaa, gosh I almost crapped my pants when I saw it and I think I m about to have a stroke.

But If this IS true then all our gaming ours will have been for nothing........I was one of the first players that finished the village thing and I just cant imagine all of those hours grinding thrown aside.......geez the last 10 days was 18 hours per day grinding and converting fs exp...and of course not only me but dozens of other players before and after .

Its a darn shame

The coverart would be part of the misprint my friend. If you don't believe me do a search for about a week ago and you will see Tiggs post. Believe me or not doesn't bother me. But.. if you wanna go ahead and order it to find out.. feel free. Don't be surprised when a brand new shiney bow with KOTOR 2 shows up at your door.

Or.. instead of using big text you can do a quick forum searh and find the answer.

It was already explained by a forum member who decided to take it up with LA. It is a gimped single player taste of SWG that allows folks limited access to 2 worlds and 6 cities. The ability to try some professions and advance to CL 30. Allows some quests, etc... If at that time the person wants to they will be able to purchase the full blown SWG via digital download and play online like the rest of us, have to pay for the expansions like the rest of us, etc...

I wouldnt be shocked if there were going to be a SW:G starter kit, but I doubt it would be anything more than the core game, every expansion, and maybe a few extra in-game items like a house, more credits, and a speeder.
