Thanks! Is it viable to lose any LS skills altogether and just go mpowers/menhancer or mpowers/mdef? As a BH, any Master Power I fought seemed to tear me apart, but the ones that I was able to defeat came down to the fact they had a crappy saber. I was just wondering if they just were unskilled...or if this is the general consensus? Is there anyone out there that IS successful in jedi -vs- jedi pvp without any LS skills? Or very little? Or anyone out there that is MPowers/MLS? Seems fun...
Depends what you mean by viable, by no dying in PVP, sure.... but by actually having a chance at winning (damage dealing), thats a different story.
- W/out Jedi skills while being powers... very few...if any against a well prepared PVP template.
- Now those pre-CU jedi w/ nice sabers that only have 0400 Sabers w/ armor break + powerhit + Power goodies can be pretty tough. But a lot of that depends on the person and their gear and who they are facing.
Right now there is a problem w/ MLS that virtually makes it useless to a lot of people that don't realize it, especially if you have a pre-CU saber.
Keep in mind, if you want to go powers you already have a tough road ahead of you, but it can definetly be viable if you choose the right skills. I'm not a powers jedi but I have several guildmates who are and are pretty nasty.
In regards to MP/MLSitseems rather ineffective due to having 2 damage dealer classes, probably minimal healing skills, and very weak defensese. If you werea gooddamage dealer(which is why I imagine you want this template) you'd probablybe the main target, and w/ minimal defenses and/or healing, you're hurting.I've also heard that force speed 2 is a must for powers users so you'd be force to at least 2000 healer 3000 Enhancer (or vice versa) which will leave you very vulnerable if caught in a bad spot.
No one's PVPing on my server atm, so I have a lot of forum time, forgive me if my posts are long and boring, lol.

Haha no I appreciate the input. I agree with the logic of MLS/MPowers being a bad idea cause both are offensive, no defenses. I considered MPowers/MEnh/4x4x healer or something similiar. My character is also a small old sullustan, so powers may fit him. I just worry that MPowers/Menh may be too force intensive to last in any pvp? Although I guess with stasis and cloak...time is on your side.
Yeah its a solid template, if you like and in your playstyle then go for it. Personally I am a get in your face and beat the hell out of you template, in saying that, if we start to lose the battle, I have no other way to get out of it other than by bike.
Having said that, I am a sabers user and a huge advocate of Armor Break. You wouldn't have armor break, but in reality, in PVP your target will have most likely have been Armor "broken" by someone else so it wouldn't be an issue other than dueling, PVE, or a 1 vs. 1 situation. I'm not really knowledgeable in powers so I'll just repeat thatForce Speed 2 is highly recommended for powers and that, Armor Break w/ Powerhit, Headhit (0400 sabers) + powers can be very nasty if given the right equipment and template.
Seems like you've narrowed it down to Powers + Enhancer, I'd suggest looking up some templates to see what interests you. I'm not very knowledgeable in powers so I can't really say much, good luck and hope you find what you're looking for.

Thanks man. Do you have to have a Jedi mastery to be CL80? Or if you spend all your skill pts on jedi will you be CL80?
Zarqon wrote:You wrote in your original post that your main goal was to be effective in jedi vs jedi battle, and in my opinion (as Master Powers) you need at least some LS skills to go against jedi. The xx4x line in defender cuts the damage from powers skills a lot and a huge part of the jedi population has it.
Also note, that if you do decide to take up some LS skills you will need defenses to be able to stand in melee range.
My own template is Mpowers/LS0400/Healer4000/Defender0040/Enhancer0404 which I personally enjoy.
Versions of it may be to remove the defender line and 4404 in enhancer for the root and force run. Another interesting thing is maybe to simultaneously switch the saber line to 0004 sabers, for the possibility of a ranged saber attack to compliment you powers ranged (and this is very needed as powers doesn't really have 2 good main attacks to alternate)
Hope that helped a bit.

If you are primarily focused on Jedi vs Jedi PvP, and are dead set against MLS/MDef then you need to realise that Force Feedback and Force Shield, forgetting everything else that MDefs bring to the table, will hurt you more than it hurts them - literally. I had a duel with someone last night who stuck Force Feedback on, and every move I did hurt myself (more than it would've hurt them in fact). Even managed to choke myself, heh
In the end the only way I could match him was by continually trying to Breach his Feedback, etc - since I was just hurting myself by attacking him, and he was still able to use his offensive skills on me (Sabre Throw, etc). Plus, when I did choke him - the damage tick was something stupid like 150.. easily counteracted by his macro'd infusion.
I hate to say it but speaking as someone who loves MPowers and will continue to keep it in my template, it is just not cut out to defeating MDefs - which practically all of your opponents in PvP will be. Non-Jedi, sure, it will cut a swathe through them - just not Jedi.

Hey guys, I have read every single template thread over and over and ran all types of scenarios through profession calculators, but I understand none of that will prepare for me what happens when I really begin to play my Jedi character. That being said, I am looking for some advice from maybe players who have similiar game interests, and enjoy the same things, and see what Jedi templates they prefer.
I mainly want to be good at Jedi -vs- Jedi pvp. Not so worried about BHs or large scale PvP. I don't want FOTM MLS/MDef. I can read the descriptions of jedi skills over and over, but it doesnt tell me how useful they are outside of general game theory. For example, the force debuff from master powers...and the enhancer drain force and force feedback. Is any of it actually viable and useful? Or are they insignificant?
I am looking for a challenge, I consider myself an above average pvper, and don't want a profession that will easily bore me. Master Powers interests mefor the simple fact that the majority of people say it sucks...and the majority is usually mildly retarded. I am worried however, if being a light side jedi master powers will hinder me in any way in FRS? I'm not sure how the old system worked compltely, and I understand that no one knows what the new FRS will be like.I appreciate any feedback you guys can give me, thanks!
