Thread: Master Powers or MLS?
I've almost chosen my final template. However, I'm torn on the most fundamental item of it. Master Powers or MLS? I am currently respec'd to powers and enjoy it a lot in PVE. As I am not yet complete with my template I haven't tried PVP (don't want the vis). My final template is:
Master Powers OR MLS, 4440 Defender, 2003 Enhancer, 4000 Healer
My main concern is with FRS and how a powers based template would fare in PVP. I know force speed helps with warm up timers, but don't know how well it does in actual experience.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Imho if you can only afford to speand 1 master on offence it should always be lightsaber, that is the basis of any jedi's offence. Any master power who wants to be effective without the top FRS bonuses and even then, hope to kill an equally high defender will always need lightsaber in addition to powers.
If you can only spare 89sp, make it MLS, if you can spare more, go master powers with 1 or 2 lines of LS. Those aremy findings after facing many power masters.
Isn't it sad that Powers was one of the highlights of the Jedi in the movies...and has yet to ever be a "good" template in the game.
Lightsaber is almost a must at this point in time...though perhaps it will change. I went with Master Powers/0404 LS/4040 Healer/2003 Enhancer myself. While I cant tank everything in the game like a defender, its alot of fun. I dont want to be a clone and jump to the next FOTM....so I took what hoefully will eventually be a decent template. If not I always have a cancel button as I refuse to grind through -10 million xp to start working a new template later on after the time Ive spent in the profession.

I keep wondering why people keep going 0404 LS and Master powers. The 0004LS tree is mainly for sweep, a kd move, and throw, a ranged move. Seems like overkill since powers has a Ranged Attacks and a Ranged KD already. If it is just for the experimentation points, then drop 0404 after you make you sabers and pick up something else.
After I make my sabers with 0004 ls, I plan on going:
0400 LS
Master Powers
4000 Healer
3004 Enhancer
0040 Defender
ATM i woudl say that LS is teh way to go if a MASTER is waht ya are getting. I tried mpowers and it was sickening how fast the force bar dropped. I have no clue why lightning does less damge takes longer to do adn costs twice as much. They have a bit of fixing to do if they wanna make powers a usable alternative to lightsaber. And jsut so ya kwno dark jedi are the only ones that get good modifiers to powers. Wholle light get minimal mods it aint worth havin. GL mate
I'm actually toying with this idea:
Master Powers/Master Enhancer/0440 LS
I'm going double master, no matter what.
I'd like to get some healing, but I'm not sure I can do without some lightsaber.
My ultimate logic - with Master Powers, I'm gonnabe running away anyway, I won't have time to heal. Isn't it better to try and kill quickly then? And if you don't get 'em on the first 2 or 3 hits, run?
And wouldn't this be a good support template, in a group with a healer?
And I can use those 1100+ stims and Ruby Biel when I absolutely have to heal myself (while running away, of course).

I think anyone who would go master powers and skip lightsabers would be nuts.
Also I think that lightsabers are the main weapon of the jedi, even Palpatine uses one in Episode 3. Non LS users in the movies don't exist. The Lightsaber is the life of the jedi.

, and every jedi did have a lightsaber because it was part of their passage to jediness. But even yoda and palpatine(the most powerful sith/jedi) say the force is far stronger. ANd i believe palpatine wails yoda using just the force.
It's the main weapon of the jedi because the force is far more difficult to master
, but alot stronger. If they ever fix the frs i'll be getting stronger, while your saber skills stay the same^_^.
