If we respec to cl80 of a prof and then get to go 10 more levels up in the tree. Like Mastery V takes cl86 as bacc said. How does a new player who is only allowed cl80 gonna make it to mastery V.

So is it that new players wont be able to make it to the top of the tree or is the top of the tree is 80 and we just grind extra lvls but gain no extra skills for the 10 lvls.

Just doesnt make sense to me that they would make a system that keeps new players from being able to master the proffesion because they didnt play before the update.

Simple answer:

Everyone can get to 90 new or old players.

Currrent full temps get a damage crystal to insure your saber will always be uber. A robe with bonuses and you get to be a blue ghost for fun if you wish and the ability to keep your alt.

New players will not get that.

Think you misunderstood: Everyone will be allowed to get the extra 10 pts to make it to CL 90. Infact no one will have CL 90 until they grind it up from CL 80 (PRE CU2 and Respects). For those that start from go, they will grind from 0 to 90 and get the full experience of the new system.

But thats just it. if all the current players can reach a lvl beyond what new players can in the tree then why would a new player stay.

Maybe its just a cl bonus as in more health and damage against higher lvl mobs but we still have the same skills as a cl80 new player.

Just isnt adding up for me atm.

And remember the cl90 bonus applies to all combat clases not just jedi. So if what everyone is thinking currently that we have to continue up a tree to reach cl90 then thats really a shaft to new players. They would never be able to reach a full template so to speak.I just dont see them shafting players that dont even play yet.

first off i was replying while you was posting. secondly if what you say is true why does the faq state this.

IV. New Veteran Player Loyalty Rewards

We are offering current active characters several loyalty bonus items in recognition of their status in the game community as valued veterans:

  • Elder Buff – Increases to combat abilities, this buff can be shared with new players.
  • Elder Title – In recognition of your status in the game as a valued veteran player.
  • Profession Re-Allocation Option – All characters active prior to the introduction of the new game enhancements will receive a total of 9 re-allocation options or charges attached to their character to allow the player to test out each of the new professions once before choosing the final path.
  • Jedi Bonus Items – Power-enhanced Jedi Robe and Lightsaber color crystal and the opportunity to play as transcended blue glowing Jedi character.
  • 10 Additional Combat Levels – New combat levels to explore from level 80 – 90.

why is the extra ten lvls listed as a veteran bonus and not just a standard feature.

The only thing that you will get is CL 90 which is another jedi grind system a padawan robe (same ones we been wearing for almost a whole year) and that is about it.

As I have said and will keep saying, the new jedi in this system will still get the up the rear treatment far as new stuff goes and if you are wanting new content I am pretty sure(new Jedi robes/cloaks sabers etc) you will have to go and buy TOOW (which didn't sell that well by the way).

Think about this, all you new jedi will be CL 90 still wearing Paddy robes, now does that makes sense to you?

And there is no reason to go and buy a alt since other professions are getting hit harder than we are (they got obliterated).

PS, did I mention this game will be 100%all about the loot now, see the relation?

Good point on your part but it's just bad wording on the FAQ I think. I have read that everyone gets 90. I'll tell you what , if they do that for the veteran players then that would be real stupid for new players. It would be the biggest mistake SOE has ever done in a virtual landfill of mistakes.
