Thread: Any such thing as a dancing Jedi?

I am following the jedi route because I want to unlock the second character. My character used to be a master dancer, but I had to lose that in order to climb up to CL80 (which though you don't NEED, it certainly helps as you mindlessly grind through the 6 force trees). Now, once I get my 2nd character slot unlocked, is it possible to be a CL80 Jedi and Master Dancer? Master dancer will suck up 106 skill points. As I'm still doing the trees, I'm not sure how the jedi xp system works.

What I'd like is a character that can do quests (hence the CL80) and can hang out in the cantina with someExotic 4 dancie steps! Am I dreaming or can this work somehow? Please give me some fedback and any templates or suggestions on what to take in the force tree would be helpfull. Right now I am going with Ranged Defence, Melee Defence, Vehicles, Melee Accuracy, Luck and one other I havent decided on, maybe the dancing one if I can keep the Dance skills, maye some type of crafting on otherwise (to help me build my lightsabre).

Yeah, I think Master Dancer, MLS, 4000Healer or 0040 Defender would give you cl80, not sure though. You could do some stuff with these templates, but you definitely wouldn't be very powerful...and of course, as a Jedi you would have to content with Bhs unless you are carfeul.

OK, so you can keep some of your old skills. I see you suggested MLS. Would it be cheaper to get Master Fencer and carry around a Sith Sword? How effective would this be? I could not only use it n combat but also dance with it with certain dance forms. As you can tell, I'm more role player than power gamer... Also, using the Sith Sword wouldnt draw the BH attention that the Lightsaber would correct?

As for being powerful, I'm in a pretty solid guild, so I don't need to be ultra powerful as a solo person. BH attacks is a concern though.

Can you suggest an alternate template with Master Dancer, Master Fencer and enough jedi stuff to get me the second character unlock.

I don't know what you mean by "sith sword" but regardless, sure you can do whatever you want with your character and still dance...all you have to do to get the 2nd slot is complete the padawan trials. And I believe that you can even drop Padawan and your FS skills and still keep your 2nd character if that is really your only motivation.

Only issue with the fencer idea is that you would only have cl54 with Master Fencer, Jedi boxes offer more credit towards levels.

As far as the Bh attention, or "visiblity" goes, you won't get any dancing with either. You only get "visibility" by using force powers in the presence of people and NPC's that you aren't grouped with. In order to dance with an "ignited" saber, you would have tobe duelling someone, and in that case, you would be generating visibilty. But, simply wearing robes, or holding a saber hilt, will not attract Bhs.

If you have any interest in my opinion on the topic in general, I would make a really fun Jedi template with lots of neat magic tricks. Use your second slot to make a dancer if that's what you want to do. Or make most of a neato magic Jedi template and keep 50 or so SP in dance. For what it's worth...

as for the topic: Starsider has a dancing MLS Jedi. Her name escapes me for the moment though. She's an excellent roleplayer too =)

Using the jedi skill set, you only need 4 full branches to get to level 80, due to the xp requirements being so high. So you could be a Master Dancer and still have plenty of skill points left over for level 80 jedi.

Ok, I just found an awesome program for building character templates. I can get Novice Dancer 0040 (which will let me dance like I want to, even if it means no special effects or cantina) Master Fencer and still have enough points to get Defence 4400. This will give me a CL80 for when I hunt, and still let me RP when I dance.

Now, let me see if my logic holds here... I will be using a Sith Sword as a weapon and the Defence skills (Melee and Ranged) are innate skills. Does this mean that I will never find my way onto the BH boards?

Sith Sword is swordsman weapon, not fencer. I use one myself. It's awesome.

As for your Defender template, I would do 4040 instead of 4400.. Improved Aura goes a long long ways

on a second thought, having a non-Jedi melee template would give you Center of Being. If you can tolerate trying to stand still for 3 seconds to reactivate it all the time, then you could get by without Aura.

And she is interested in not using any force powers (for visibility reasons). In that case I would do the 4400 defender. As you say, those are passive skills, and will not create visibility.
