Thread: PVP ratings...should they at least account for some type of bonuses for pvp play...

Other than a bragging right does pvp ratings do anything else for you in the game. I know of a couple of bh who say they will check the rating before they attack...If the toon has a rating of 1500 or above they drop the mission. I think if you have a higher pvp rating then you should get some type of enhancement either defensive or offensive. At least will make it more worthwhile to stand and fight.

How do you check pvp rating?

Also, i have heard to get a high pvp rating some players wait at village and DB people to raise it and speedthem back to starport for more grinding. So is pvp rating actually accurate anyway?

Pvp rating is pointless and is not a valid indicator of "skill". I have dropped over 100 points of PvP rating due to large scale PvP. We rebs on chilastra like to PvP but we get outnumbered VERY quickly . . . and when you lose 15 points on death and only earn 3-5 for a DB, the numbers get skewed.

IT should count for non-jedi. So they too can have some sort of pvp reward system. God forbid something that genius happens. They are too stuck on nerfs and balance. You can give us all flowered robes and breadsticks for weapons and people will complain the old ones hit too hard because they got stale and cry for nerfs on breadsticks. The crying will never end unless everyone has the same weapon and dps . People ruining this game that simply DO not know how to play it and cry nerf out of ignorance.

You have to bear in mind that PvP rating can be influenced by several factors. A lot of people that enjoyed killing factional NPCs but didn't have pvp oriented templates have low PvP ratings due to being ganked while grinding faction or doing missions. FC Jedi also tend to have skewed PvP ratings. Way higher then average due to the large amount of kills to get and maintain the ranking.

however there are people out there that have valid pvp ratings (good and bad) I have a guildie who had 2K pvp rating on another server and I have another with around 1500 though hes on a downslide now since he has lost some crucial skills due to the fs skillpoint requirements. I also know a very persistent BH that has a well deserved 900ish PvP rating

yeah it all depends on your playstyle...i could run away from battle and never die if i wanted to but I will stick it out and die with my group. When people become too concerned with PvP rating, they either even begin to fight, or run when they start to lose. . .

PVP rating meens nothing. I meen it could be a cloaking gank merchant who cant fight other than get a tap in at the star port. Most people who actually PVP a lot dont have high pvp ratings . Think about it , most die kill and die repeatedly so why would their pvp rating be high? Id be much more concerned over a pvp rating of 1300 myself but its all rubbish anyway meens nothing.

My rating is 1551 and i suck at PVP.

BH fights are not PVP in the same sense, most good PVPers wont run from battle to save their PVP rating so may die.

What you want is the FRS which will be here in due time.

Why do they even have pvp ratings then?...the most dangerous thing soe can do with jedi is allow the pvp rating not to mean anything and when and if the frs comes back online the xp banked not have an effect on it. The only reason I have banked my 4 million xp is that the frs might require the jedi to be i the positive side of the xp to participate. If not, jedi are going to go wild. With no reason for a full template to worry about xp points or pvp points havingno consequences you will see every jedi in the game constantly pvping in gcw and staying overt. will post this in a seperate thread to see what others think.

mine is 1383 and I consider myself to be pretty good at PvP

I started out last night with 1393, got a couple DBs and went up to 1399....got DBd twice and went down to 1383 . . .

Go figure

Aye was at 1560 or something start of yesterday went up to 1590 then dropped back down by the end of the night.

Usually i dont bother to PVP BH provide the ratings for me but its meaningless.
