Hello, I haven't used drain since I had ME before the CU. I heard it's on a timer now. Is it still a good skill to get? Many Jedi on my server turn on AI and I would like to help them empty their force pool lol. Thanks!

You can re-use it every 10 seconds or so, however I never see successful attacks from same person less than 30 seconds apart.

Someone else may see otherwise. I am also not sure if you have 10 people do it at ocne to one person if they would all work.

IMO, no it is not that useful. There are better skills to pick up nowadays.

Thanks for the feedback. I dropped healer down to 3000 to get 0002 enhance for channel. I am thinking about dropping advanced infusion and pick up drain. I find that normal force heal and stims work well, and perhaps I can stand back and drain a snared AI user. I have M Defender myself, but only use AI in mass pvp.

I never had this skill pre-nerf so I never became dependant upon it as my only means of winning as some people did, however in its current state I must say it still isvery viable especially if you have more than 5ms distance and you're waiting for the saber throw cooldown timer, throw in a drain any chance you get, more importantly it helps in those really long fights, and also in large scale battles where someone decides to AI and try and tank an entire offensive, just drain them dealing with other attackers. Also temps without channel like mls/mdef/healer 4040 etc. it can be very useful because once they're out of force they're done, especially with holos soon to be converted to buffs. the downside is the SP investment, if you could use them more effectivly elsewhere but for me, It was a choice of 2040 defender + mediate/imp force shield/drain or 4040 defender without those skills, the added 8 inate armor and minimum melee defese just arent worth it over those 3 extra skills. Esecially in pvp, when once armorbroken you'll be lucky if that 8 extra inate saves you 5 damage.

In my opinion Force Drain are good in PvP group against a single target, who have very little health and is currently surviving on AI, while for example waiting for help from other friends. I always apply drain force in such situations.

But honestly. I too am thinking of getting rid of this box. I would prefer to have a little more healing. (i am currently mls, mdef, 2000 healer and 0003 enh.)

The mind heal costs to me have become a downer. Even with food, drink and spice, not thrilled with them. Being Mdef, I don't get hit as hard, or as much, so I wanted to toy with it. Those 1200 heal stims and Ruby seem to compensate decently.

I can always re-grind in your fabulous spin group

Hmm so you are what I am going to. I was MLS/MDEF/Heal 4040 and got tired of it.

Change to MLS, MDef, 3000 healer and 0002 Enh.

You get good heal and you get Channel Force and Transfer Force. You dont get Force Drain, which in theory is a great too. But Using it 1vs1 in jedi fights have never occured I have only used it while in "gankgroups" and vs 1 specific target who is running on AI...

/agree

Force Drain have definitely its uses. Thats why im currently having it.

But I have been starting to think from past experience. How much do I use Force Drain compared to for example heal.

I have decided to wait till FRS hits live till I do any changes. I got XP capped on 4 million, and I can also use a Token Respec if larger changes are required. Not that I think so. So, now i just awaiting word from SOE about FRS...

Yeah I changed to this on Sunday but haven't come across any Jedi to pvp yet. The trend on my server right now is Jedi giving up force healalltogether, so I think drain would be great for them who soley rely on stims.

You will run out of stims/and or stomach filling/ruby/any combination of this before a jedi alternating stims+heals runs out of either and/or mind by far. Not to mention ruby is supposed to cut your stim useage timer in half, not let you instantly use another stim, this is supposedly going to be fixed in some far off upcoming patch. Giving up healing entirely is a very, very brave move. IF you can pull it off thats great, but for staying power you gotta have something besides the room in your stomach to back you up.
