Thread: I may be on to somthing with looting pearls and crystals.
Yesterday I was farming krayts and before I started I removed all the crappy pearls from my inventory and looted 3 good pearls from the first 4 krayts I killed. It was the 3rd one that gave me nothing. After that I just stopped becuase I knew I would be pushing my luck to get more within the next 60 kills. Oh and I only hunt Juvies.
Then I said what the hell and went to the place right outside the MO where the lvl 111's spawn. Before I attacked I deleted both crystals that I looted from the corsair poi the previous day. 1st spawn and I looted 1 quality crystal. WooT!!
So in about 40 mins of looting I looted 4 tunable items. Am I on to somthing or is it luck? I farm crystals and pearls all the time and never have had this luck. Too bad I couldent use any of them in my saber.
Well. There are some uber scientists that are like mental Jedi in real life that will say that even randomness and chaos have some order to them. However, the only pearls or crystals I carry are in my saber and I still haven't looted any in a long time. Granted, I haven't hunted much lately. But even when I have, no luck. 
But hey. Ima keep trying. 
At least until I see it ToOW will keep me here much longer. lol

Its a computer game ran by a computer on a computer. Therefore it isn't random at all being as how a computer can't generate a truly random number. Everything is based off of seeds. Granted it may be near impossible to find the pattern in it but I can assure you there is one.

If I sent anything to the devs to drink it wouldn't be scotch.

Well ive never hunted krayts before untill the other day. My friend and i both killed a krayt in turn and we were both able to loot a pearl on our first try. After that we got nothing. I really think there is something to this. This same thought came to my mind when it happened. It really may more on your toon and inventory than anything esle. Im going to experiment put my pearls in my house or bank and see what happens or perhaps let a friend hold it for me.
To be honest, I have always wondered about looting patterns. In my own experience, (and I know its random), but it seems like after you loot a few things, expect a long drought. However, if i get those looted things out of my inventory - its as if the Loot Gods don't see that I have anything and I get something decent again. It really makes you wonder sometimes what's behind the curtain and how it truely works.
