Thread: Help me out here. Dizzy Blind Stun... Do they really do anything?
I dont bother with them regardless if they work or not. Stun I think is the one that stops regeneration...if that one worked I'd use it but I hear it does nothing.
I look at it this way....
Lets say I use blind on an opponent. Most of the times it takes me 1-2 hits to get blind to stick the first time. For some reason when I try and get a second one on enemy it takes 3-4 attempts. My accuracy is 251 by the way. Now blind only hits for like 350-500 damage...something low like that. My power attack hits for 1400. So even if I get mob blind on first attempt, Im down 1k of damage I should have done to mob.
And states dont last long enough either. I might get my enemy to miss 2 times from blind, saving me 1 heal woopie. Counter that with the 1-2k less damage I did by trying to land a state on him and I think a waste to do.
jusyt cause someone says its not working is no reason to get rid of it, try it for urself and see if it really is working
Dizzy Lowers tehre defenses against states basically, meaning if a target is resisting a certain state, stun, armor break etc. then use dizzy, itll increase the chance of it working
Stun A BIG ONE. it lowers defenses which means there a bit easier to hit and lowers there dmg bya little.
Blind is pretty obvious, none of the states are broken and ive tried em all expcept blind, dont have it. i use stun and dizzy regularliy

I appreciate the response, but your post is missing something I was hoping for such as a link with raw numbers on effectiveness. I kind of agree with the 2nd poster in the sense that it seems to make more sense to just get the damage out rather than trying to apply states. We all know how fast pvp battles can be these days.
Some people really enjoy testing that type of thing but I've never seen a reference to testing. I do clearly remember seeing something from a dev that insinuated that states would be useful again sometime but that was a while back.
Perhaps I assume too much but I just don't have the patience to go through 100 of each type of attack and write them down.
if you have all 3 of them on you will take 6 more points of damage. tested
So why the hell doesn't dervish lay them on anymore???

Ha ha,,,yeah, that wouldbe too cool!
Or Dizzy...and it got all burry for a bit
or Stun...it would shake in and out
Nothing to dramatic, but anoying and even cause some confusion or delay the button clicking process...
in pve and pvp the state seem generally useless. armor break being one of the exceptions. blind, dizzy, stun are broken for the most part or the impact seen in combat has very little effect.one may lower dmg a few points, another may allow one extra miss out of 10 hit attempts. if the states actually lasted for a decent duration and had more of an impact on the broken combat systemthey would be more useful. since dmg matters much moreand is so low i generally avoid using all of them save armor break. sometimes i try them for a healing breather, but i rarely notice a significant impact. blind is what? -80 accuracy? stun is what -10% regen? dizzy supposedly makes things slighty easier to hit and lowers def a tiny amount. you'll still get hit nearly as much, they still have a lot of health to work down, and on the nice new logorithmic scale, if the things you hit aren't at the low point of the curve before it rockets to heaven. the impact is marginal at best.

Actually, I am more concerned about the state removal ability. Because each time I use one, the state is applied again to me on next opponent attack almost immediately. State removal abilities should grant us a state immunity for a few seconds at least.
