Thread: does getting db'd by a bh remove your visibility?

Pre-CU there was a bug where vis never cleared too.

also you can have so much vis that after one dn to a bh u can still have missions or so im told lol
so glad to help one guy i told alot of vis info about he was like wow lol

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong here, but does vis really matter anymore? I mean even if you don't have vis, the publish 20 notes say that ifa Jedi is online, they will be on the terms. So at that point it's just a matter of time before a BH comes because it's luck of the draw since they can't see the names on the terms. So if the afore mentioned is true, then vis makes absolutely no difference anymore and in fact you will be hunted more because the Jedi poolon the terms will be much smaller.

Unless I misunderstood the new changes I think you did instead. Only Jedi with vis are still on the terms, and their mission doesn't show until they come online. If this isn't how it works now, then why even bother with the group vis change, why even have vis at all if every Jedi is on the terms when they log in.

yes, if you get db'ed by a BH your vis is completely cleared, there is no such thing as level of visability so 3 bh have to db to remove it completely
however there was a bug pre-cu ( when i grinded ) which sometimes didnt clear you off the terms after the bh killed you

i appreciate the answers and not getting flamed for my understanding. I still have one question though. If only Jedi with vis previously are on the boards and do not get cleared until they get db'd by a BH, then at some point the terms will be completely empty. So what is the process for Jedi to get on the terms again? SOE is so poor at publish notes it confuses me. I thought I understood it correctly before.

You get visibility from using your Force Powers too close to NPC's or Player Characters. It's like 32 m or so (not sure of the number). I inderstand that now, with Publish 20, there is no Visability given by your group members when grouped. Still, it your group gets too near NPC's or Players that are NOT members of your group, you still get Vis from the non-groupe members.

Answer in the other extreme of the question, there will ALWAYS be Jedi on the boards. It's impossible to keep an entire population in hiding. Heck, there are Jedi out there who WANT to be attacked and have been begging for it for months since they finished their templates. It's fun.
As long as Jedi are considered a PVP class in the eyes of the devs, there will ALWAYS be Jedi on the boards.

vis is not supposed to clear on a bh death.....
well actually, I don't think anyone knows how it's supposed to work anymore..
In the very first incarnation of the vis rules (which we still havn't been told completely what they are) getting db'd by a BH reset your vis I believe. But then later on they changed it to prevent abuse, by making it so when the bh kills you he can't pull your mission for either 24-48 hours.. Which a few patches later became bugged itself. From having a Bh myself I can tell you neither of the above has worked as stated for a very long time.
So all in all.. noone is 100% certain how vis works, outside of the framework (32m using forcepowers/saber from humanoid npcs...) But everything else is pretty shady
