i'd suggest posting rights should be provided on an age rated basis, sadly its hard to assess the mental age accuractly on purchase(though based on alot of my posts i'd not support it being based on spelling ability)Message Edited by Puttley on 09-14-2005 11:56 AM
Why not leave it the way it is?
I have seen young kids post more informative posts on these forums then some Mature(?) players..
Besides, the SOE rules affects all. Noone - no matter age - have the rights to start trolling and flaming etc.
And honestly, do you think age-limit on this forum would help??? I dont believe that a second... Because some never grow up!
Age is not a determining factor in maturity, unfortunately. I know of many people on the Ranger forums who are under 20 and are more mature than some of the people on other forums who are in their 40's.
A better system of removing people from posting would be the best thing. 3 strikes, you're out, essentially. 1 strike= banned for a month, 2nd= 3 months, 3rd= banned for life.
seems simpler and it would likely make people who really enjoy playing this game think twice before flaming and insulting.

Hmm I have a 38yr old friend that doesn't have a bank account so he pays via game cards. He is also one of the oldest players on Valcyn and is well respected. So pls do not stereotype all game card users thinking they are children.
QFE, ya frakin MORON!

This should get some interesting responses and will further my point.
In order to haverights to post (only post not read) you must have registered with SOE and have the original credit card(with the3 security numbers) at time of registration. If you purchased a game card to play you will have norights to post on the forums. This will eliminate the kids from throwing temper tantrums in a public domain. If Some of the things that are written in these forums were said to a person while in conversation it would cause real life problems. If some accountability was placed (on some) of the people who posted people would be more considerate and less obnoxious. This would not stop all the undesirable behavior but would reduce it. I can not believe that these ruderesponses are fans of Star Wars but kids who should be doing their homework. I don't agree with everything in this game, But that is what it is a game. I really wish we would put this much energy into forums that politician read and try to change things in the real world. Imagine if everyone sent 1 email to a politician for every one post. Then you would see real change.
I think I have said enough
As stupid ideas go, this is pretty stupid ![]()
Credit cards have expiration dates where your bank will issue you with a new one. I have played since launch, and beta tested it for months prior to that. My bank sent me a new credit card a few months back with an increased security chip built into it... the 3 'security' numbers on the back changed too, so you're saying i should have no rights to post on the forums?
If I donate blood, can I get a voucher for a free SWG game card?
Seriously, how can a person honestly equate someone's payment plan with their temperament?
Anderman, just learn to laugh at the rants, ponderthe wisdom, and embrace the silliness.
Besides, it's all fun and games to someone loses an eye, anyway. ![]()

QFE. My credit card expired, and I received a new one. I don't keep the old card, I physically destroy it. I would support a 3 strikes rule. 1st, 1 week ban, 2nd, 4 week ban, 3rd perma-ban.

This should have appeared at the top of your post and you should have left it at that.
Your idea is based on some rather broad stereotypes and conculsions without any real factual basis for them. You would be better off supporting a more strict policy of permanent bans for trouble makers instead of repeatedly giving them short timeouts and allowing them to evade the ban with an alt account.
