I think the plans to cancel SWG have already gone in to practice.

The 'alpha' professions will constantly be nerfed untill it will be unplayable, then most jedi will leave and people grinding to jedi will leave that would take a good portion of the players away, once this has happened they will delete the jedi profession.

Next they will bring in a xp nerf but wont remove it three days later this will cause only the power gamers and hard-line fans to stay, there will be roughly 5-10% of the population there is now.

From then on there will be profession nerfs and gameplay nerfs untill everyone has left voluntarily, after that the game will be canceled without any legal issues with remaining players.

I hope this doesnt happen and im only being paranoid.

I believe SWG will be about to end if things don't improve dramaticly... In one year, every new players that came because of the release of Episode III will start vanishing and then what ? Few vets that don't even know why they come in game anymore (kinda like me right now) and no reason to get new players : no more movies... Actually the last marketing event for SWG will be the release of Episode III's DVD and the brand new extansion ; and so far extansions make people have fun for about 2 mounths before everything goes back to what it was.

Well "what is was" was fun, but it doesn'tget more fun, quite the contrary.

You are right on the money. I am a long tem veteran that has been playing since release and do not why I am still playing. I guess that I am trying to hold to that last little bit of hope that things will get better.

This post has no point... SW has been around for how long and you think the ep3 dvd release will be the last marketing event? Hardly...

see i hope this isn't true, but sadly the way things are going right now it wouldn't suprise me one bit. SOE need a massive over haul. im not going to sit here and say what they need to do to improve it because its not my job and frankly i only know about 5% of the problems. One thing i will say though is coustomer support needs to listen to its customers aka us the players and they are not.

i wonder how i would go about applying for a job within the SWG ranks

One year from now...........

My pesimistic side says we will still have 250K people, just like we did one year ago.........

My Optimistic side hopes that the Revamps of the regular professions is a success and we will have less Jedi and 300-400K players.

I would agree with you on the 250k mark, but you must take into account for the accounts that are active that no one playing. I am sure they have alot of accounts that are not being used as well.

what we really need is a Combat Upgrade Upgrade (CUU) that way we can all tells storries about pre-cu, cu, post-cu or pre-cuu and cuu....lol. But i feel you. I really feel bad for the noobs now. They come into this game and about 2 weeks they quit because there is nothing to do but find a group to level and no body wants them in their group because they are not cl 70+. You cant get uber buffs and go solo any high level mobs either.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

In the end, most of us all stay because of the social aspect of the game. We all have friends here and hate to see them leave. They should never have nerfed the cantina so much. They should have increased the amount of battle fatique instead of getting rid of it. Even the best PvP'rs in the game enjoy a little social interaction after a good fight. I miss the days of busy Coronet and Theed cantina.

Lets face it, they have removed more good things about the game than they have added.

I agree with you there. Jedi are only going to multiply because everyone that purchases this game will work toward getting a jedi. Nothing is ever going to change that.

Yes I do... Oh sure they'll try to bring as many colorfull extansions as they can to change that fact but the point remains.

Oh and I'm not talking about Star Wars... Movies like these are forever ! A video game like SWG is not, and it's already dying. If you can't see that you're in major denial.
