I just came into realization at how stupid we're being. I know what you're thinking. "Another long and preachy post about changing the profession." But I'm just tired of this whole thing. I'm ending it once and for all. I'm targetting every single negative stereotype there is and straightening them out.
First is the old-timer hologrind Jedi. I'm gonna do this first, because, until recently, I was one to the extreme. So here's what I've realized:
Jedi is not our profession. The decisions that are made to change the game, be it the way one goes about obtaining Jedi or anything else, are not our fault, and they are not the new Jedi's fault. They are not going for Jedi because they want to torcher us and cheat us out of work. They are going for Jedi because SOE gave them the opportunity, and that's what they want to do. They pay just as much as we do and we have no right to tell them that this is not their profession just because Sony switched the system around so that it was easier. Nobody wants to hear about how we walked 15 miles in the snow up hill both ways. You want to be like the Jedi in the movies? Then be glad that new Jedi are being added to the ranks. Our profession is being strengthened and bolstered by the new Jedi, and instead of being helping hands to the new Jedi like in the movies, we are shutting down their feelings of accomplishment in becoming a Jedi, just because we're bitter than Sony changed the system.
Secondly, I would like to talk about the "nerf the other template" people. This group annoys me more than any other group, because they have absolutely no reason whatsoever to do this. You chose the template you chose, and if you wanted the other one, you should have gone for it. What kind of Jedi asks for their own kind to be weakened for their benefit? You're just asking for the Jedi profession in general to be nerfed to no end.
And here's another little tidbit of info: There is no such thing as a bad template. As long as you didn't throw darts at the different skills blindfolded to choose your template, and if you know what you're doing, you can use your template to its fullest no matter what. Say you have Master Powers. You can't solo anything. Do you know why? Because trying to solo with Master Powers and saying "this tree sucks" is like trying to cut a steak with a spoon and going "f*cking spoon!" Powers is a SUPPORT TREE. It works best IN GROUPS! Healer is healing. Master Lightsaber is attack. Defender is tanking. Enhancer is enhancing your abilities and debuffing the enemy, and Powers is group support. Do you notice a pattern? Not all trees are meant to solo! If you want to solo, then grab an Enhancer/Defender template, and stop trying to eat soup with your knife!
Finally, I would like to talk about the people who tell other people that they're playing the game wrong. Just because somebody decides to take advantage of the materials Sony lays out in front of them (accidentally or not) that does not mean that you can call them exploiters, or treat them as if they are not equal to you. Everybody ends up being equal in the end. The earliest of Jedi may have had it hard with the saber TEF and permadeath, but they unlocked after 5 to 10 professions. Later unlockers may have unlocked later, but xp was easier to get then, and they still had a chance to get Premium Pearls. Post-9 Pre-10 unlockers...well...we didn't really get anything too good out of that, but I bet we were really happy when that debacle was over and we finally got our Jedi
Village unlockers who crusied the whole way through on double xp and AFKed and respeced, that's fine, you saw an opportunity to do less work and seized it, and I don't blame you. This whole thing about being "honorable" is so fake that it's almost funny. I don't know if you guys realize, but the difference between being a disrespectful player and the most honorable Jedi on the server is being at the computer to double click on the creatures. That's right. Two mouse clicks. That's what seperates an honorable kill with a dishonorable kill apparently. Yes, they got an easy ride through, but you know what? They probably weren't as satisfied when they got their Jedi as you were. It's no offense to those who did the village, it's just the simple law of human nature that the harder you work for something, the more satisfied you'll be when you get it. No matter how bad you have it compared to anybody else, you will always be repaid with the satisfaction of earning something through hard work.
So there it is. I doubt this will end everything once and for, but, hey, who knows?

Damn straight. Any template is viable if you use it right. Personally I don't have a single master box, Most people laugh until they are lying on their back. Its all about knowing what you can and can't do.

i tried saying the exact same thing about pre-9 jedi, that the grinding wasnt as bad and wasn't anything worth getting rewarded over("easier xp as you said it"), but i got flamed for it. then again, nobody actually read what i said, just pointlessly flamed...
