From what I understand there is a Tie Interceptor that you get as a reward for a quest. Anyone kno wwhere this quest is?

If you are talking about the Royal Guard TIE, you get it on a space quest for the Kashyyyk Space Station.

OKay I did that and I got the Imperial Hologram...then they offered me a duty mission. Is there something else I have to do?

When they offer you the duty mission ask for something more challenging. You have to disable a rebel corvette and like 4 tier 5's and a tier 4, i dont know what happens after that because I just got the mission and failed it miserably. Hope this helps.

Once disable, you need to escort it to the imperial outpost on Kashyyk Space. You may have to fight some Gunboats, but they are Tier 3 and Bomber strike is here just in case
