It happend to me 2 times. Was farming rebels NPC and killed a named (but I dont think factional or belonging to any group att all maybe BH targets) NPC and got krayt segements!

Never seen that on a NPC before

yeah i looted base tissues and scales from rebel npcs tonight lol

They even drop Krayt Pearls

Everything they drop seems to be base stats though.

looted 11 +68 -0.6 tissues off a NPC as well as segments and pearls. Weird, but easier than krayts

What kind of NPCs were they? I looted some off a 100k ham rebel, but do they drop from anything easier?

BH NPC's seems to drop anything possible in game. You can loot NS Lances off them even.

I got some tissues +38 as well.

On all occasions it has been NPC with name but not belonging to any faction however they had spawn together with rebel NPCs

I got a 'select' pearl off a Rebel NPC as well. It seems even the NPCs are hunting krayts
