I missed something--they finally fixed afk camping? YAY! How?

Try it.. type /afk then try attacking an NPC... no damage..

It won't work, I found out involuntary in the Aakuan Caves a while back. My afk timer was set to 5 after reinstall, and I was inadvertenly in combat for some period of time, grinding heavy weapons xp and simply put a point blank area macro on to ease my finger, and sat there healing myself every once in a while. After five minutes I realised it had set me in afk because I hadn't used my mouse and I had to un /afk myself and move the mouse to start doing damage again.

The only way around it would be to use third party macro software, but you all know that isn't recommended.

Or just go to options and turn auto-afk off. The AFK loot whores figured that out as soon as the change happened.

There's an option to not auto-afk, as I use it because sometimes I forum h00r and sit in game for a period of time. There's really no major way to get around AFK camping a spawn.

They could just make it so stuff doesn't always spawn in the exact same spot (but that would be too simple and elegant I guess)

As for auto afk/not afk.whatever ... that will never be a solution. 3rd party programs aren't necessasry, you can just tape 10 quarters together and place them on a button and never go afk with auto-afk enabled.
