Thread: Whats happening to DoT'ed Pikes and other weapons after the CU?

Before the Flames start, I'm not a "DoT Whore" or whatever you want to call me... I'm a Rifleman/Swordsman with NO DoT's, I just have Lances and Gaffis that have Dot's on them that I have been holding on to for some time now..
Read they are removing DoT's from all weapons so whats gonna happen to things like the Nightsister Energy Lances.. are we gonna log in one day get the patch and see our Mind Fire Lances have had the DoT removed...
would we be getting any compensation for Items that have DoT's?

Yes they will go poof, no you will not be getting any compensation. Compensation might be subject to change, but don't hold your breath. I'm sorry for any ignorant individuals who have spent large sums of money on "uber" weapons as of late. Everyone has known for the past few weeks that there was a good chance that DoT weapons were going to go and that all weapons would be "nerfed".
FYI:
All weapon stats will be altered so that they fit more inline with the CU. If you have a good weapon now, you will have a good weapon then, but the stats will be lower.

You know I stared at all thos DoT weapons being auctioned off on the trade forums but never bought one... so thankful I made the right descion.
You never know, the DoTs may be converted over to a second dmg type for the weapon. I wouldn't hold my breath on that though.

Why on earth would you get compensation?

all weapons will be converted when the nerf hits.
no weapon will have any type of dot.
the only exception are skill based dots (fire for cmdo flamethrower, pistoleer bleeds etc).
how / what dot weapons will get converted into remains a mystery.

My guess is that weapons with DoT in them, will be converted to regular weapons....and the appearance of a DoT will be converted into something else...more damage, faster, or less encuberence...something like that.
