Just finished Obi's quest and did not betray him so I got the shard of retaliation. Well i'm very sad to say that it does not work (submitted ticket) it's suppose to add +75 to defense, which was not showing up on my character sheet, also it's suppose to riposte melee attacks and return all incoming damage which it was not doing either. Every creature I fought and npc was not taking counter attack damage, and it seemed they were hitting me more than missing...so I guess the crystal is cursed

sure it dont' work?

it add normal def not aber defense or rifle defense...simple abilities DEFENSE

i did a quick test ..took exaclty same dam and did no return damage..so nothing noticeable for me so far..so it seems its working as intended heh. i have only def from novice boxtoo..no defender in template.25 ranged and30 melee def as well. no difference in dam i took.

these are bad test.. if you have melee defense that low.. your still going to get hit hard regardless, The reflect incomming attacks doesnt work, but the rest does

no noticeable improvements means its broke to me.. hit for 872 with def buff hit for 872 without. if its no noticeable improvement then its worthless if it is working.

It's not working properly. If it did, I imagine the cl30 NPCs I attacked earlier with it on would have taken some riptosle/reflection damage. What a hunk of junk. Save that timer for the armorbreak immunity or your Mustafar Head proc item.

Whats up with the damn timers being connected? 99999 items that share the same timer is like having 1 item in total. BS>

does ab def work or any of others? seems that if it does its nothing you can notice.

The Retaliation Shard undoubtably does not work. I’ve run lots of tests against different foes, PC and NPC, with and without the buff, and each time there is no noticeable difference in damage taken, avoidance rate, and not a single riposte. (by the way riposte is spelled incorrectly in the buff text)

I really wish now I would have betrayed Obi-Wan.Knowing how long it takes them to fix bugs, especially one as minor as an item (granted THE quest reward for this expansion, but an item none the less) I have little hope that this will be fixed before the next 2 expansions are out I wish they could reset the quest for me so I could do it again and betray him, but I know that’ll never happen.We’re SOL.

Also did some more testing, I counted how long my mind regen after using improved infusion, it took 15 secs to fully regen my mind when it was activated and took the same amount of time to regen when it was not activated.

If you BETRAY Obi-Wan, you receive the offensive crystal, which is called the "Lair Crystal" I believe.

If you HELP him, you get the "Shard of Retaliation" which is the defensive crystal and thetopic of discussion here.
