I understand your frustrated with campers, but where exactly does it say it's illegal to to play while your not sitting at the computer? Should people get fired from their jobs when they have a copy machine to do the work for them instead of actually manually copying the paper with a pen and paper? Should firemen get fired for going to the bathroom instead of sitting at their post waiting for incoming distress calls?
Just because someone pays for three accounts and makes them all riflemen so they can outdamage anyone in the game, should they get penalized because you can't support three accounts of your own?
I'm not one of those people, nor do I camp POI's or certain static spawns, but what your complaining about is just petty and weak. Life is unfair, and you just have to bite the bullet on certain things and let them be. If you insist on crying about it, I'll be sure to buy you a box of tissues for Christmas. Find something else to kill, there are 10 planets with millions of things you can do on each.
You are allready on the right step with not buying skill tapes, but quit preaching to other people that they need to follow your footsteps. On our Chillastra trade forum most people when they see a +15 skill tape for auction we make fun of them because they most likely found it on Nyax, but there are also people who buy the skill tapes, it's their choice and leave it at that.

I am not completely against loot camping.........like anything else, in excess is unfair to other players, but all players will find it advantageous to loot camp at some point, even if it is for only a few minutes. AFK camping is not against the TOS as far as I can understand it, but I believe it is frowned apon.
Now using third party log and loot programs are very much prohibited. If you spot this, report it.
I can understand how it is frustrating to not have an opportunity to loot like the others. IF something needed to be done to limit this, there are only two real solutions here.
Make loot tapes non-tradable. That would immediately remove sales. You could even restrict thier use to Taylors.......need a Taylor to put one in clothing, or an Armorsmith to put one in armor, etc.
Or....create the standing spawn. The idea that any player, in certain areas, that stays in one spot for a determined period of time spawns an uber mob that will probably kill and incap them. Would add an element of danger to the practice, and discourage long term or AFK camping.

Introduce a small percentage chance that a loot pile or can will contain a booby trap. The booby trap could consist of a high potency long tick poison....that way if the player is AFK and gets one of these he should in theory get triple incapped by the poison and there ends his loot camping for the day.
Would not only ensure people were at the keyboard when attempting POI's but also encourage the non medic/docs to group up and take assistance with them

Why not just let this die? It has been stated by SOE reps that AFK camping is not "illegal". This question has been posed to CSR's and their answer was that it was not illegal and they would not interfere with anyone doing it. This is not to say that you can use a 3rd party program (this is "illegal") but you can use a recursive macro. I don't AFK camp but I do not begrudge those that do. They choose to play the game that way and I choose to play it mine. If you do not like AFK campers stay up until after restart and go in and kill Nyax before they can get their toons and macro's going again. I do that and I get some good stuff that way. If you can not or choose not to do this then let these threads die. I think most people are tired of looking at them.

Here is your solution...
If the loot campers are really AFK, they probably rely on the mob attacking them. Just target the mob and attack it before it aggros on him. If the guy is really AFK, he won't be complaining and you will get the kill and loot.
I have little respect for people who stand in a spawn point while AFK. If they aren't at their system to attack the mob, they lose out. If you are lucky, they might even drop from the game from lack of action in about 15min or so.
Sometimes those AFK campers will have an auto-targeting and auto-attack macro running. This can spell doom for them if you were to be running for safety from a very tough mob (or three). I am not telling you to purposefully train the mobs on them. That would be bad conduct. Just warning you about this possibility so you know the risks of AFK camping. A person could be riding up to the POI and have a mob in tow. If another player should happen to start shooting whatever mob is chasing you, you can only assume they are trying to save you and know what they are doing... right?

The only way to rid this game of loot campers is make all the Caves load the same way as the Corvette does, and set a time limit in each cave. Yes people could still go in the cave, loot, leave, and go back in again, but this could be countered with a time limit to entering cave.
The otherway to do it thinking about it would be if the camper loaded up in the cave the loot piles become empty, and would respawn until the entire cave is empty of both players and creatures. Not sure this method would work as well as the above method.
