Thread: Cybernetic Eye-Thinigies?

I've seen a few folks wearing these things that cover one eye with a red lense and look pretty cool (like an infrared tracking device or something), but I can't seem to find thing one about them. Anyone know what I'm talking about or where/how I can obtain one? If they have any practical use at all I'd much rather go for one of those than a bulky-looking assault helmet that completely masks my characters.

only eye wear im aware of is the goggles that came with the limited edition game box at launch.

I think those are from the Japanese version of the game, but could be mistaken.

Ah, I ask because I saw one on a RotW NPC and I know it's not one of the three SE goggles with the original release. If it's a japanese only thing that might answer a few questions... thought it does make me rather disappointed. When will they get around to adding eyewear for the rest of the populace? I kinda figured there'd be optical sight-enhancing implants when I originally heard about implants in RotW, but I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, you can only get those by using the code from a Japanese version of SWG.

as i understand it, you can buy the japanese version of the game and enter the CD key in the Register Expansion pane on your existing account, and thereby unlock the monocle on your current live server, as well as unlock access to the 2 japanese servers. havn't done it myself, so i can't say 100% either way, just what i've heard.
[edit:] just to clarify, the monocle comes with the japanese special edition, not just the standard one.

iv been to the jap servers. Just change your language to japanese on the EULA agreement on login and you wil be redirected to the jap servers. and the eyeware you speak of is coded into the american version, iv seen it myself. its a file called goggles_s5.sat i think. there are 3 non SE goggles coded in and are worn by space NPCs

Ha, I remember those things when I use to play back when it was launched. At the timeme and my friendsthought they were stupid but I guess overtime anything rare turns into gold. I think my friend might still have a pair. His account is no longer active though.
