Thread: Loot Differences between solo and grouped

Has anybody noticed a difference in the loot you get when solo vs. grouped? Last night I was out hunting on yavin solo at first then grouped with a buddy. I was out solo for about an hour. I averaged about a poster every 2 missions sometimes more. Then I met up with a buddy of mine. We started doing missions together. We were getting maybe a poster every 4-8 missions. This was on the exact same mobs. So we decided to break up our group but still go together. As soon as we did that, we would start getting about a poster every mission or 2. Now to me this is a bit absurd. If SOE is trying to get people to group more and make this more of a multiplayer atmosphere, why would loot be penalized when you’re grouped?
I know this isn't exactly a scientific test but it was a noticeable difference. Has anybody else experienced this same phenomenon or was it just coincidence?

I has always SEEMED to me that I get better loot alone. Now it is only perception and I have done no testing on it. It just always seems I do better by myself.

Ok, at least I am not the only one who notices this. You should get better loot as a group if they are trying to foster grouping. Does this mean that when the CU hits and we have to group that there will be a much lower quantity of loot in the game....*ponders the possibility*

After the combat revamp I'm sure group looting will be much better. Before you could get into a solo group and get more money and xp. Thank god they didn't also include loot into that mix because it would ruin the game even more than solo groups did. Right now it may be off, but once combat revamp hits and you are FORCED to group, rewards WILL be better.

you know now that you mention that...thinking back to yesterday...I think this may be true. I was grouped for the best part didn't loot much but the day before was solo and got loads of new things..

Now that you mention it, yes I have. I'm currently changing my template, and to work on my unarmed line I have been faction farming the Weapons Depot. When I did it solo I was looting a lot of the new loot when I cleaned out the place only once, as soon as a few buddies showed up and we grouped,weonly looted a warm hat and that was after cleaning it out another 3 times. Can't really say if it's a bug, but it the Troopers aren't supposed to be dropping clothing anymore maybe it is.

I don't think it is true.
I was solo (with my droid) in Yavin, collected 18 posters in 6 missions from Hutts.

well soloing krayts I can honestly say I get alot more pearls then if I am with someone.

So, are you saying having pets grouped with you yields more loot than PCs? Qua?
