This is annoying limitation that I for one would love to see removed. If your striving for realism then it makes no sense we can unequip an entire set of armor during combat over 5 second intervals. I am certainly ok with a 5 sec delay on extracting items from crates while in combat

It is trouble how "combat mode" prevents so many actions from taking place, even if the one you're in combat with is 100m, 200m or more away from you.

Especially now there is more aggro in the cities because of factional NPCs, it can be a pain in the neck not to be able to un-crate some brandy, use a terminal, call your speeder or shuttle out because some Rebel NPC who is stuck on a wall 300m away wants to attack you.

If they did implement this it would also reduce the number of items in the game cluttering our inventory. I always have to keep certain items on 'standby' like a muon gold, pixie, few weapon PUPs, etc. Ifwe could uncrate as needed then we could just have the crate in inventory.

well actually, as some of you know, we used to be able to take things out of crates during combat, just like we wher eable to call and store things during combat also.. but they nerfed it

do you have time in battle to pull out a crate rip it open get an item and close it back up, try preparing for battle
