Thread: Krayt tissues in a DXR
So, I was wondering how many tissues can go into one DXR rifle?

It takes 5 power handlers for a dxr-6b (the rifle). This means you need 6 tissues, one for the schematic, 5 for the identical handlers. If you happen to have a set of 11, you can make yourself 2 rifles.

Quite the opposite. 2 gives better odds for slice, not to mention a dxr is much better in PvP than T21's....

- PvE average Damage: 372
- PvP average Damage (vs mitigation III, and without 75% reduction): 270
+50 Krayt tissue with 25% Damage Slice (188-562):
- PvE average Damage: 375
- PvP average Damage (vs mitigation III, and without 75% reduction): 263
We have spent even money, and come up with two weapons that are basically equivelant. However, it is very important to keep in mind that the krayt version is not optimal, nor is it gaurenteed to be that good. The 25% damage slice has about 50% chance of happening (50% chance for a damage slice, 25% being the average damage slice - 15%-35%). Realisticaly, this means that you are going to need to spend, on average, twice the money to come up with an equivelant weapon.
Don't let mewizz on your camp fire, however. Once you have the 35% sliced base T21, the only way to go up is with a Krayt version. Keep in mind, however, if you don't have the 35% damage sliced t21, your money is better spend buying crates of these and slicing untill you get one.
Krayt tissues are only effective in t21's if you are lucky, not speed capped (doesn't matter what slice you get, it will still help you out), or if you have the time and $$$ to actively persue the amazing krayt t21, as opposed to trying to lottery ticket one. Also, if you are actively persueing one, look for tissues higher than 60%. As you see from my example, +50's require a 26% or better damage slice to make them better than a base t21. When looking at your tissues, look at how low a damage slice you can get and still have a better than base T21. Also, don't just look at max damage. Look at average damage. If you are going to use the weapon for PvP, look at it with mitigation III.
I love my krayt t21 (though i bought it from someone else, I figure 5 million is worth them taking the risk of a speed slice). However, if you are looking at things in a purely economical, highly efficient manner, tissues are better used elsewhere.

Not to mention, supposedly all weapons will be balanced, and have a specific use.On the DXr... Acid damage is very nice, and definately very useful in complement to a t21. Example, dxr6 mow down rancors.
I'm with you, have 400 krayt tissues cooked into ABPHs now. I make mainly melee weapons, missed out on the best resources to make ABPHs so I don't bother, so when revamp hits I hope I'm ready. Plus I know of a 3 other smiths, older as far as smithing than I, that are hoarding whatever they can get their hands on.
Seeing as you already have a Krayt T-21 and I want one, I think it's a great use of tissue.
