Ya, its just fish. Carve the meat and you get a fish you can place in a house, such as how people have player made fishtanks which look quite nice.

The only fishing loot I've heard people getting (besides fish) are things like broken handheld thingys and electro binoculars and etc... I don't think you can get anything useful.

I know a long time ago you use to be able to get random odd items from them like skill tapes. They were always low level, just +1 or 2 but I got a couple when I use to fish. Not sure if you can still find them on fish or not.

On the original "loot from fish" post, the person who started the thread obtained a non-craftable vest from a fish.
Another person got a set of dice.
Although seeing is a better confirmation, I wouldn't doubt that you could obtain looted items from fish in rare circumstances. The person said that if you fished in a poor spot, with low fish count and high vegetationcount with a poor-quality fishing pole, you have the best chance of getting loot from fish. I am going to start fishing on Tatooine this week to see if I can pull anything out.
I'll let yall know what I find out.

Only thing I've ever caught is fish
Lots of them, but still fish.
I recall that thread too, it was the way you say, a poor fishing spot, bad pole. Makes me wish I'd kept the crappy one I crafted back when I was trying crafter, just something like a 39% pole, not like the 96% one I use now.

I got the Eyes of Mesra from Dant MO for those who don't know its like those magic 8 balls that gives u a random answer if u "ask" a question. You used to be able to get them from a junk pile on naboo but they removed it, so i was really happy to get something this rare hehe. The fish rate was 1 or 0 i think and the vegetation was max.

How do you find this information?

Not sure if there are maps anywhere showing what body of water has more/less fish, but if you click on your rod and 'start fishing' you'll see a window pop up; two of the things it shows are 'Fish Density' and 'Vegetation' if I'm remembering correctly. Both ratings seem to go from 0 to 4, 0 being lowest (great for vegetation, lousy for fish, though I don't think I've ever encountered a fish rating 0) and 4 being highest. I might be incorrect as to how high it goes, but I've never seen a rating higher than 4.

Thanks for the info, I guess I will get a pole and try this out.
