I am working on getting the Hero ring with one of my toons (my combat toon) and was wondering if it was possible to trade/give it to my non-combat toon?
I've heard that sticking it in a droid and trading the droid will work... has anyone confirmed this?

The ring itself I'm not sure, but the marks of the hero I've dropped in a house and transferred the structure to another toon.

The ring is a non-drop item.. not intended to be traded. It can only go in your bank or top-level inventory.
My guess would be that if the droid-storage-trade works, it would be considered an exploit...

Ok, then how about this. Can I trade the marks to my non-combat toon and then take him to talk to the Hermit to get it made into a ring?

I've heard that if you use the ring as a wedding ring - you can transfer it to your "bride/groom"
Haven't tried it myself though - and not sure if that's considered an exploit or not...

NO.
The marks are non-tradeable and they are not what give you the hermit. Youkeep the marks AND you don't even have to have them in your inventory to get the ring.After you finish all 4 quests the hermit gives you talk to the hermit again and he knows you finished them (and so will you cause you will have 4 new badges) and then he rewards you with the ring.
