Thread: credits in solo groups

I haven't played for a couple of months, but when I recently started again I noticed a problem with solo grouping. Can we no longer do solo grouping and keep all the credits for our missions, or did they nerf it for us? Was the solo group just set up wrong for the group I was in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope, they took that away. Now your portion of mission payouts are based on number of people in the group. If the group number goes up or down after you selected your mission, your portion of payout also goes up or down.

However, the group members still have to be within a certain distance to obtain part of the payout. Meaning they can't stay in the MO and get paid, while you go out 3K and complete the mission.

you can work around this with droids, pets, at-st's.

There is a grouping tricks out there on the web.

So does the extra credits go back to the few people in the area when I complete a mission, or does it simply disappear? And what would possess SOE to do this?

If the people in your group are near enough to you, then yes, they get a percentage of the payout. If no one from your group is nearby, then the remaining amount of the mission that was not paid to you, is just removed from the system, i.e. nobody gets it.

SOE did this because the crafters were no longer the ones holding ALL of the wealth. Some of the fighter classes were actually getting large sums of money. There wasa large amout of complaining that the people that were grinding Force Sensitive XP by taking missions were making way to much money and XP.

Also, by doing this they achieved something else. Do you join a solo group for a insanely harsh payout cut but get max XP from kills? Now your no longer making bank. Perhaps you group with a low level pet for the smaller, but whole, mission payout and take a cut in XP? Now the FS has been slowed down, but your making more money then with a solo group.

If they are not near you when you finish the mission the credits are lost. SOE did this cause there was to much money in the game. To easy to get money.

So now it will take me forever just to get the credits needed for armor and weapons from the crafters who were complaining to begin with. I barely have 100k credits right now. Not even enough to get a good set of armor, much less pay for my buffs and what not for my work. Yeah that pretty much sucks. Oh well, at least you still get ok exp with a single decent pet, it is primarily just the credits that will hurt me...

You can go alone/ group with a pet and get 10k missions on dant, endor, yavin, dath. Just leave the pet in town and go do the mission. This will give you the whole 10k and grouped with a pet you can still get the 10% xp bonus. 10k is better then getting 2k in a solo group.

True enough, but it also gives you smaller lairs to fight. So instead of getting 15 giant baz nitches, you get 6-9. Really puts a hurt on your fs grinding if you are doing that also. Maybe I will just have to take up creature handler to give me bigger missions...

Now you have to choose: do you want 10k credits or more xp. For me I'm after the loot so I'm going after NPCs. I need a 3+ size group to get the missions I want. I dont take out the base if the group size is 5 or more cause the money is not worth my time. But, because I'm killing NPCs I can get credits looted from the bodies. Sometime it is around 300-500 from each. The looted credit adds up. It pays for my buff plus a little more.

But it takes time to get good loot. I've gone through a full buff and not looted anything worth selling. But when I do, I get enough money to get new equipment when it's time.

I guess I need to start looking into getting a vendor and doing the loot thing as well for any good credits. I would just like to be able to combine the two methods. I used to hunt with just one small animal in my group back before I even knew what a solo group was. 10k isn't bad, but I do like the exp too. It wouldn't bother me so much, but I need to grind a few million fs exp for my run to jedi. I have all my skilltrees unlocked, but I only have 2 of them done. They really need to let pilot exp convert for fs exp...
