Hi folks, didnt really know where to post this so i guess here will have to do.
Im just wondering why creatures such as Blurrg Raptors, Stoneskin Hanadaks........and other creatures with 60k-100k HAM exist?
Because as far as im aware they drop nothing, and they are too hard to kill whilst grinding a profession, so why would a TKM or master Rifleman want to waste his/her time doing so?
Has anyone ever had anything drop form one?? because i think that all Npcs and Creatures with over 40k HAM should have the potential to drop, such as Kimos And Rancors, otherwise they are just pointless.
I was kind of bored when i thought about this so say what you like and feel free to flame if your one of those people that has to

Blurrg Raptors are part of a Jedi's Knight trials, so that explains that one.

Guess what. Not everything in game exists for grinding purposes.

well the Blurrgs been explained fair enough but still think other high HAM Creatures should drop, otherwise no point in killing 'em unless they are all part of a quest somewhere along the line. Anyone know of any? and as for above-the point i was trying to make is that, I know they arent there for grinding so why would someone want to spend there time and weapopn condition killing them.

Well, I realize some people object to this sort of thing, but Stoneskin Hanadaks make wonderful tanks for riflemen that like to kill Goraxes(Gorax? what the heck is the plural of gorax?). 90% kinetic resist and medium armor means the gorax does little damage, and 100% energy resist means riflemen can blast away with strafe shot with their T21 and not kill the tank. As I said, some people seem to dislike this sort of thing because I guess only defense stacked swordsmen should be allowed to solo high end creatures, but you wanted a reason for the existence of Stoneskin Hanadaks, there is it. They're out there to keep the Gorax in check

Just another Tier of critters. While they are no challenge for some of us, others may find them a challenge. Does everything HAVE to give a good reward?
I didn't even know about the Blurgg Raptors until an errant SS2 agro'd him to me. Couldn't figure out why I was doing so little damage to it til I realized it had a 60k HAM.
Maybe that's the reason, to keep us on our toes. You notice nobody strafes a line of Stormtroopers without checking for the Dark Novatrooper first, now......?

I harvested close to 1500 hides from a blurrg raptor last night. I believe that goes for the handarak too as we killed one of them as well. I think they give a small group something of a challenge to fight.

As stated above, not everything in the game is there for grinding or loot purposes. Those creatures are a nice little challenge andscouts/rangers can usually harvestdecent amounts of resources from them.
Following your logic, we should remove all creatures that are not rancors, krayts, kimogillas, or Baz Nitches.... boy that would be a fun gamehuh?
