Thread: toow quest rewards = no trade :(
im bummed
wonder how many soj's one of those will be worth?
quite frankly I'm suprised that this isn't creating a greater uproar on the items and loot forums.
Imagine these cases:
You do the quest on your rifleman. The reward for the one quest is a sword. Now you have a weapon you can't use. You can't give it to your friend/alt because its untradable, so its either something you delete or place in your house. Next you do another quest that gives you a rifle. Great you can use it, but you can never get another one! You can only do a quest one time and can't get the rifle from a friend. So basically there is no point in doing most of the quest with your jedi if you have one, since they don't use looted weapons.
There might be some quests that give one ofmany different types of rewards. If you can only do the quest once, and can't trade to get the quest item, there is no way you can ever display both of those items in your house! Further limiting the amount of loot you can collect.
I know sometimes I sell my loot to others in an effort to make some extra money to buy items I need. That is no longer possible either. Since the items can only be used by you, we're told if we want to sell them to offer them to a junk dealer.....LOL....I'm sure I can really buy what I need with the 1500 credits the junk dealer gives me, compared to the million I could get on the trade forums.
Finally its the crafters who really get the shaft here. Most of the quest content involves fighting or a high danger encounter. The cl 1 crafters that we have are going to be dead instantly. If they're dead they can't do the quests, if they can't do the quests they can't get the reward schematics, and since they can't trade to get them, they are effectively removed from that content.
Please force the devs to reconsider the illogical move to make the rewards non-tradable. I know I won't be happy with that change, and neither should anyone that looks in the items and loot forums!

Wow that sucks.
I am a hard core loot collector but my main toon isn't a combat character so generally I buy and trade for the cool loot. Will suck if this is true ![]()

lies
Don't forget, this means there's practically no way for crafters to get these items unless a combat person walks them through it.

What fun!

This no trade is madness!!!
Think about it - I am a Carbineer/BH - There are a few items in this expansion that I will want to keep. I dont need Jedi loot for example. Previously I would do all the missions andsell the loot that has norelevance to me. Now it seems I will have no reason to do most of the quests - I will just do the quests that give me the loot I want and leave the rest.
If the idea of this is to make peopledo all the quests and experience all the contentthe devshave taken awaythe incentive to do this.Previously I would be able to do the quests for the items I didnt want and sell them after. Now I just wont bother - After all why would I ever want a pistol, lava saber or a Jedi robe??For some loot sales are their living -It is also a good way for new characters to get quick cash to be on a more even playing field.
It just makes no sense at all except to force people to buy the expansion and surely if that is the goal why not just prevent trades to people without the expansion??
Also as others have pointed out this totally rules out most of the loot ever being obtained by crafters and also stops people with alts swapping between characters.
This really is madness.

what purpose does that serve? quite a few of them are certed to professions. this makes the majority of the quests not worth doing. no usable reward, cant sell it = no point

wheres the post by the dev's saying that quest items will be non tradeable? Well, atleast the drops will be tradeable unlike WoW.
beta forums.
from blixtev:
We are using No Drop for a vaierty of reasons this expansion. Mainly because it requires you to do the content to earn the rewards. Some of the new content is very difficult and it will take a solid team of people operating together to beat it. This adds a subtle value to items that before anyone spamming in the Mining Outpost on Dantooine could aquire.
Most quest rewards are going to be no drop. If you get something you cant or do not want to use, it can either be displayed in a House you are the owner of, or you can sell it to a junk dealer if you do not want it clogging up inventory space. Most of the new loot/rewards can be sold off for credits to junk dealers.
