What do you get for repairing a broken datapad? Is it worth all the trouble to get the items? Cant find the new datapad casing.

I know it requires a 'Datapad housing', 'datapad connectors', 'datapad battery', 'datapad backlight', and wiring (but I'm not 100%). I have a completed one, but don't know what to do with it. One person said that it was for an old quest, but another person said if you were to build a 'data-disk repair kit' you could recover the disk and read it with the datapad. And yet another person told me that you had to create a datapad in the early game system, but now everyone starts with one already (ctrl+d). But those are the three most common answers I have ever gotten, and I tend to have a leaning towards the last one.

Yep once u made the datapad u gotta make a datadisk repair kit put a corrupted disk in it then it fixes the disk, u then place it in the datapad you made to get a little story to read.
