Thread: Question on Items when someone cancels the game

First, please forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this.
A real life friend of mine isplanning on cancelling his subscription. He wants to give me all of his stuff. If he does a /transfer structure to me
will his house and all the items in it be safe from a future purge? Or will I need to pick everything up and re-drop the house?

Everything should be fine with you if it is transferred.
The note to make is that if he deletes the toon {instead of just canceling} the server may update the deletion and take everything with him if it hasn't been saved.
So basically if he is just cancelling , transfer with all items is fine.
If he wants to delete the toons on account, transfer and wait at least a day before deleteing it.

i don't think they even purge accounts, my old town is full of houses from people who quit over 6 months ago.

To the best of my knowledge, SOE has not yet performed any character purges. They have stated that they are willing and able to delete any character that has been cancelled for three months or more, but the server populations have not yet reached the point where such an action is neccessary.

Like he said, make sure he doesn't delete the character or everything could go wrong. I've had a friend do this before and we lost a lot of nice things....
