Thread: What does weapon type defense in an SEA do?

Hadn't seen this before, can't seem to find any info on it. Is it added defense when you are weidling that weapon? When you are being attacked by someone/something weilding it? How is this stat applied? Does it stack with general ranged/melee defense?
