Thread: GDKs and the scales they drop?

I've been off gathering these for GDK scales for my Armorsmith friend, and have noticed that the health bonus on them is only +10. Now I know that this isn't right, or is the +10 the norm now?
GDK scales don't give a health bonus. Kimogila scales give a health bonus of anywhere from +9 to +20, that I've personally seen.
GDK scales have to drop from Giant Dune Kimogilas, and they will look like a stack of grayish hide. They only drop about once in 20 kills or so and will usually be in a stack of 5 to 8 (never seen nor heard of a stack greater than 8).
Good luck.

thnaks , and sorry about the confusion. I ment the Armor plates for R.I.S. armor you get from the Giant Desert Kimos? All I've been finding lately are +10s. Is this the new norm or am I just on some weird streak?
Again, Giant Dune Kimogila Scales have exactly that as their name, they are the ones used as a component in RIS. They do not have any numbers on them, they do not grant health bonuses.
What you are talking about look just like armor attachments. They are health enhancers--any kimogila, nightsister, and krayt can drop them. They are not necessarily used in RIS, but can be used in any armor. They normally range from a health bonus of +8 to about +20 is the highest I think I've seen. The better ones tend to drop off of higher CL creatures. Giant Dune Kimogilas are not the highest CL kimogila (they are only 83 or so). Enraged Kimogilas or something like that is around 85-88 CL and will usually drop better enhancers. Likewise, krayts drop good ones, as do nightsisters.
The enhancer drop is much, much, much more common than Giant Dune Kimogila Scales, which as noted previously, look like a stack of hide, and have no numbers or stats.

anyone know what type of armor can be crafted with the krayt dragon scales??Message Edited by sabbatu on 08-24-2005 11:29 PM
I believe Krayt Scales can be added into any armor craftable, except RIS probably.
