With everything that we are seeing I really have to ask if the DEV team that knows the
SWG community is intact and functioning or has it been gutted?
The rewards program has three catagories:
For the Field | For the Home | For Fun
The new rewards, are all for the "For the Home" catagory. They are completely void of any

real programming/developmemt effort and had to have taken no more then a few hours to
code up (at best).

The "Membership has it's rewards" post the Thunderheart put up was well over a year ago
and suggested that the DEV's where spending time and effort to come up with some really
cool rewards for us.
What happened, is some manager looked that the time to develope cool rewards VS the amount
of people that will get the cool rewards (specificly the 24 month reward) and decided to just
treat them as a calculation. Meaning that the time to create a cool reward was not worth it.
Kind of like a recall of a bad part. When you build the part you know that it is not going to work for
some people but for a large number it will so you just go with it because to do what is right
would cost more money.
What has happened to the DEV team was insired to create a Bunker House, or an AT-ST? Or any
number of super cool rewards?! Where are THEY!
The Soro Subb a 6 month reward not only say "Thank You" it is so nice that it screams of the love that

those developers had not only for there craft, but for the community!!
Now we get a box full of holos and a plant? What is going on.......................!!!!!!

It does make ya wonder. Maybe they all got assigned to Matrix to bring that one up to snuff.

Well, after CU hits, i remembered reading on some post and some gamer magazines that a few devs left for greener pastures. i am not sure if that is a good sign forthe rewards. i don't recall what section they were from.

Do you want to know where the cool rewards are that the DEVs mentioned or the countless suggestions they asked us for?
You will be able to get them.......in the next expansion that you'll have to buy for $49.99. That's right, when SWG:Rip off the Players hit the shelves you can get a shiny AT-PT. Or, with the Digital Download, also for $49.99, you can get a unique "Bunker House". Coming in the Spring 2006, SWG:RotP! Look for it on shelves!

It absolutely feels like the dev team has been gutted.
Ironically ever since Smedley made the announcement that 20 new devs were being added to the SWG team (most likely just EQ devs sharing duties) communication and bug fixes dropped to an all time low. It was as if 20 devs were removed instead of added. And considering that since the CU went live SWG has more bugs then it EVER has had. Not a good time for devs to go dead silent. I for one would love to know exactly what is happeneing in that dev studio, it must be a monster of a mess because nobody really seems able/interested/willing to speak to the community or to fix many of the new game-stopper bugs for some folks. It just feels like they are horribly understaffed and nobody is at the wheel.
Add to that the recent mafia-style execution of the entertainer, dancer, and musician professions and you really have to wonder whats going on at SOE. Considering what the CU has done to non-combatants and crafters already, it feels like they made a list of SWG's unique MMORPG traits and are systematically removing them one by one. Very scary.
Im hoping for the best but im extremely concerned at how things are going for my beloved game and the folks running it. This "Ivory Tower" mentality that appears to be coming from SOE is disturbing, baffling, and a terrible terrible mistake if they wish SWG to succeed and prosper into the future.
